aesthetic: asking my coworker to help bag a lemon loaf after breaking two in a row in a panic during rush (i.redd.it)
submitted by strombolipuppetry
mileygirl08 98 points 9m ago
just put it in the oven, put everyone out of misery
Socko-The-Sock 38 points 9m ago
i did this as a green bean and i learned my lesson 😬
thebestdaysofmyflerm 7 points 9m ago
What happened?
Socko-The-Sock 27 points 9m ago
oh nothing bad lol after i destroyed 3 lemon loaves in a row the person training me told me we don't warm them up
goddessofwaterpolo 5 points 9m ago
One caught on fire for me once
Socko-The-Sock 45 points 9m ago
a hack i've found is cutting the bottom of the lemon loaf bag and just slipping it into the pastry one
kaleiydo 11 points 9m ago
i used to do this until every other loaf broke while trying to get it in lol
Buttafly_360 2 points 9m ago
Sometimes doing that the frosting come off😭💀
diorbbyyy 30 points 9m ago
me but with the cinnamon coffee cake 😭 as soon as i put it in the bag it all crumbled 🥲
Vallion04 21 points 9m ago
The cinnamon coffee cakes and warmed pumpkins loaves are my worst enemy. Always breaking
Chromosomes23 14 points 9m ago
Roasted red pepper egg bites they be slippery for no reason
olivinemultichrome 10 points 9m ago
The amount of these that have ended up on the floor is too damn high
Vallion04 3 points 9m ago
I’ve never actually had any of the egg bites slip, but I have accidentally dropped them
KaoriLikesWatari 25 points 9m ago
I’m the first one to say I just leave that hoe in the bag? 💀 have yet to have a customer complain
chrichri33333 7 points 9m ago
I usually let the customer know I'm leaving it in the bag because it'll most likely crumble if I don't. So far every customer has appreciated it.
Necessary_Low939 4 points 9m ago
I do that too
coffee-and-chillll 25 points 9m ago
It’s not just me who struggles with this, what a relief. That’s me ruthlessly judging myself as I break *another* lemon loaf

Not gonna lie sometimes if it breaks I still attempt to hand it off to be less wasteful and I find it’s usually not an issue because there’s nothing wrong with it, it’s just broken (like me 🙃)
holldizzle024 18 points 9m ago
no, you eat it. lemon loafs are all i consume at work, bc i’m clumsy and refuse to waste food
fionacoyne 5 points 9m ago
My manager would yell at me. We don't even get to take home expiring foods it just gets thrown out.
No_Flower_7305 2 points 9m ago
Woah, what about the donation bags?
fionacoyne 2 points 9m ago
It's probably because I'm a licensed store that we don't have those (or at least if we do I'm not aware of them.)
coffee-and-chillll 1 points 9m ago
I totally would if stress didn’t steal my appetite :/
dontcry2022 21 points 9m ago
I pull it open at the bottom, then make sure I pull it apart all the way up the middle line thing on the plastic covering one face of the lemon loaf. This ensures that it won't get stuck to the plastic as you're trying to gently shake it into the pastry bag
jordanshaw89 8 points 9m ago
This is the waaaaay!!! I’ve blown so many minds with that trick!!
dontcry2022 2 points 9m ago
The lemon loaves love to stick to the plastic!! I've messed up many by trying to force them to just slide out of the bottom end of the pack. Glad other people have realized the trick
taylortherod 19 points 9m ago
I used to just give it to them broken lmao
vertigo00o 12 points 9m ago
okay so you know how it’s sealed with a line down the middle right? i open up the bottom side (not the frosting side) and then open up that seal down the middle and every time it hasn’t broken
rusted17 3 points 9m ago
This exactly. Save me so much trouble w every food not just the loaves
vertigo00o 1 points 9m ago
especially fuckin turkey bacons 😭😭😭
rusted17 2 points 9m ago
Those and the bacon Gouda r terrible. I feel bad heating them knowing the guests getting half the cheese lol
vertigo00o 2 points 9m ago
and impossibles as of late as well 😭 AND DOUBLE SMOKEYS
honestly all of them lmaooo
gabby24681 9 points 9m ago
I just leave em in the plastic and say they’d melt otherwise
Intelligent-Ad1273 4 points 9m ago
At that point I just rip the date sticker off and throw it in the bag, plastic and all
psionicillusionist 4 points 9m ago
I've always suspected it's an issue on the manufacturing end. I don't think it's your fault.
Sad-Western-8918 3 points 9m ago
No cause that’s me with the fucking blueberry scones. Them bitches crumbly as hell
Jewicer 3 points 9m ago
now this is a problem i haven’t encountered yet
Sad-Western-8918 1 points 9m ago
Idk but every time I try to package them they fall apart 🥲
rusted17 1 points 9m ago
Yeah word. Op commenter must be strong af
Alefur 2 points 9m ago
At this point I completely destroy one side of the bag, hold the covered back of the loaf and put it into the pastry bag, flip it and pull the plastic out. It's chaotic but it works
rusted17 1 points 9m ago
The only way for loaves
mariesnowelle 2 points 9m ago
not just the lemon loaf but the pumpkin as well at least for me, I have a hard time with plus it always sticks to the tongs
Hazel_is_Trans 2 points 9m ago
I rip down the spine and place it on parchment paper, then put it in the bag (use tongs )
glowml 1 points 9m ago
too much work
graylikesoap 2 points 9m ago
all loaf bags are pulled open like a chip bag and i just wiggle it until it falls into the pastry bag or else i’ll lose my mind
quickthinxallthots 1 points 9m ago
i just keep it in the bag and put it in the pastry bag
Delicious_Buffalo_13 1 points 9m ago
I was told we can just leave it in the bag 🤔
Baristababie97 1 points 9m ago
ik its not standard but we put loaves in the pastry bags still in the wrapper! unless warmed ofc
Potential-Read-4824 1 points 9m ago
i open the whole bottom of the plastic and put it on a warming paper and then use the tongs to put it in the pastry bag bcuz i am not wasting 💀
vexcii_ 1 points 9m ago
if we say not to worry ab bagging it are yall allowed to do that? had no clue it was so annoying to bag 😳
Gameb0i6 1 points 9m ago
Idc if they break. Happens all the time. I still sell it. They gonna break it when they eat it anyways so why bother wasting food.
BaristaBabe13 1 points 9m ago
I would completely open the plastic; top, bottom, and seam down the middle. Then fold the two halves of plastic under, so that there was only one side of Lemmon loaf with plastic. Horizontally slide it into the bag, then flip the bag to its other flat side, so that the Lemmon loaf is directly against the bag, leaving room at it what now the top to take out the plastic, then turn it upright (opening of bag toward the ceiling). It takes a couple tries to figure it out, but once you get it… you GOT it. OR until you figure out your way, open it onto a “wax paper” that is used to put food into the warmer, wrap the paper around the Lemmon loaf, then slide it in the bag. It also makes it easier for the customer to take out and eat with less mess.
CITCourtney 1 points 9m ago
One time i did it just as i always have and never had any issues and broke seven in a row i almost cried nobody found out though but man what a waste i felt so awful
dead-ramone 1 points 9m ago
open the flaps of the package so the plastic is flat. then you can easily pick it up with tongs and put it in the pastry bag. 👍🏼
rusted17 1 points 9m ago
I usually don’t know my strength so I fuckin yeet that bag in half and then use it to shove it in the pastry bags
rusted17 1 points 9m ago
Also open ur stuff upside down (seen facing up) and lightly grab w the tongs. I find that helps
SandtheB 1 points 9m ago
I literally just had to remake 2 simple cold brews 4 times, because I can't read and I dropped them more then once. fuck my life
Queerguy24 1 points 9m ago
On the verge of tears too
Necessary_Low939 1 points 9m ago
I just put that shit in the pastry bag without opening it up. If they complain? They get a “It’s more fresh.” To shut them up
-_-slimshady 1 points 9m ago
they’re usually fine if i open it from the top and use the tongs to wiggle it out of the plastic!
mmms444 1 points 9m ago
I open it, and then put on plastic gloves. It's easier to handle ( though nor by much
rterrebo 1 points 9m ago
Dang things are so fragile just like the Karen's we deal with on the daily in -store and drive-up.
shaklorde 1 points 9m ago
We just kept them in the fridge they hold together better
