Asking if you want any food helps us get it into the oven faster, therefore bringing our drive times lower, making management happy.

This^ my store used to do this all the time but our dm said it makes people take longer especially if they weren't thinking about getting food. So we had to stop it :(

They weren't thinking about food... and might get some with the suggestion? Increasing sales for maybe extra time at the speaker and not even the window? That seems pretty silly to me.

In real push time mode I'd literally pause people at the box while we got the food in so it was cooking before they even started to pull forward. Then I realized drive times are dumb BS and I don't care.

Yeah, asking them about food was really nice for buffer time. Especially if they wanted a panini/ grilled cheese. Too many times when people ask for a grilled cheese at the end of their order and ask for it to be double toasted :((

Oh well, that makes sense. Bless my heart, I hadn’t thought of that. Thanks!

at my store my shifts told me to do it for the purpose of upselling and decreasing drive times (ex: if someone orders egg bites first and we hear it over the headset they will be done cooking sooner and the customer can leave sooner).

At my store we ask this if the person that is on ovens is overwhelmed so they know if they can put all of their focus into the ovens. That way they can kind of ignore the order in their headset or run food or whatever make be needed. We try to avoid it if possible because it does sound kind of wonky and it isn’t what you’d expect when you pull up. It works though!!

We do this at my store and it is 100% for times! We want to give the food person a second to get the food in the oven before we begin the drinks, because things like egg white bites take over a minute and can completely botch our DT times!!! We also don’t have a problem asking people who order a weeks supply of food through dt to pull to the front and we’ll run it out to them…
