(Crossed out my name for privacy reasons) This regular customer at my store comes in every single night that i am working (typically closing shifts); Sitting in the same spot every night, in a perfect position to stare me down, and he has just recently begun leaving me notes on the table just before i lock the doors for the night. He has been frequenting my store for close to two years now… A few months back he found my instagram account, and even commented on one of my posts. He still views all of my stories and likes all of my posts (He has since been blocked). The other day he told me i looked “gorgeous” when i passed by him in the hallway outside of our store (We are attached to a bigger building). But yeah this note gave me the ICK! So i wanted to share lol. Yes, I have notified my SM. Not my first creepy regular by any means, but just be aware of who is frequenting your store. Stay safe out there guys!!

Oh damn thats disturbing! Did u notice if he started visiting ur store more after u blocked him on instagram? Im sorry theres someone creeping on u 😔
HarleyQuinnFartQueen [OP]24 points9m ago
I only blocked him once I received this note. For the longest time I just wanted to be a friendly face to him, because he seems a little lonely, but this note really changed the tune for me. Definitely keeping my distance now!
Responsible_Snow71095 points9m ago
Oh ok i see! Sorry i thought u meant he was creepy for a while and then found ur instagram and started being creepy on there too and then u blocked him. But so u blocked him after receiving this note, so i really hope to god he doesnt get more creepier since he cant see u online now.
Eww hes giving me the creeps cuz ive had people say some weird shit to me since i was younger. Like a while ago before i was even 18 yet, i took public transportation so I got on a bus and I went to the bus terminal cuz I was headed somewhere and I got off the bus and I was walking over this walkway that connected but outside of the terminal where the buses stop and crossed over and connected to the actual terminal building. And on my way into the terminal building, the bus driver of the bus that I was on had got off the bus and followed me and he tried to hit on me and I kindly declined and then he kept asking for me to lift my shirt up and I said no and I just walked away and I definitely should have reported him but I was young at that time and I was scared.
Then another time I was taking a taxi at night time to meet my friend across the street from a bus terminal and the taxi picked me up and the entire ride was fine and when we got to the drop off spot, the driver told me the total and I told him that I was a couple dollars short and that my friend will be here soon and will pay the difference and this guy just kept driving slightly past the drop off spot and asked me if I wanted to do something with him in exchange for the rest of the fee of my ride. I got really scared and in order to safely get out of that, I just lied to him and I told him that I can't hang out with him tonight but I told him that he can have my phone number so I gave him my number just so I could safely get out the car and then I met up with my friend who was a guy and then shortly after that the taxi driver ended up calling my phone and my friend that I was with picked it up and tore him a new one
People are creeps and i wish they would stop
HarleyQuinnFartQueen [OP]4 points9m ago
Agreed! It's especially uncomfortable when it's literally our job to be nice to them and then they do this shit.
Responsible_Snow71095 points9m ago
Yepp that's why I feel like when they force the customer connection things so much, I'm sure it makes a ton of Baristas feel very uncomfortable because some people interpret it in the worst way possible and they think that we're trying to hit on them or they think that they're super special and that we're paying so much attention to them more than any other customer. No, we are paid to be nice. We are paid to give you Beverages and food and talk to you and be nice but we are not getting paid anywhere near enough to be hit on by creepy customers
Enough_Raise_71672 points9m ago
Yeah no. Good job trusting your gut. If he seems lonely, it's because he doesn't have any friends, and that's because he's a creep.
testingaurora25 points9m ago
That's super predatory. Take photos and document everything. You have a better sense than me whether he's creepy but harmless or creepy and takes it up a notch. That's essentially stalking. It IS stalking esp if he's finding you online too.
Ive dealt with more stalking than i care to think about, there are psychos in the most bland looking shells, you never know what is going on in someone's mind.
Be aware of your surroundings and make sure he isn't following you home. Not trying to be alarmist but seriously, document document document. Hopefully you'll never need but I wish someone had told me to.

Oh trust me i’m keeping records. My boyfriend actually pops in most nights to see if he’s there and if i’m okay. He told me that he’s noticed the guy glaring at him while he’s talking to me. All of the partners at my store that I regularly work with are aware, and everyone always has an eye on him (They’re like my second family). I’m sorry you’ve also dealt with this! :(
testingaurora6 points9m ago
Okay good im glad to hear your bf stops by, your partners have your back, and you're keeping records. Your safety is paramount! Im sorry you're dealing with it currently, take care of yourself

Gotta love getting cornered by a dude who thinks customer service etiquette = romantic interest. How the hell to people turn out like this?!
Necessary_Low9396 points9m ago
Uh is that toilet paper he wrote it on?
HarleyQuinnFartQueen [OP]4 points9m ago
Just regular printer paper. Not sure why it's shaped like receipt/toilet paper lol. That would've been the icing on the cake though.
Necessary_Low9392 points9m ago
😂😂 yeah lol. Well hopefully he got the hint and back away.
Enough_Raise_71671 points9m ago
Is that his receipt? Or did he ask for paper to write on? 😕

Please make incident reports for every thing!!!
darkwolf5233 points9m ago
I’m glad to be a guy cuz aren’t no one wanna do that to me.
But sorry OP that this happened to you. Did you file this as an incident/tell your manager that you’re not comfortable with the customer?
RedKamo10 points9m ago
I’ve had male coworkers with creepy stalkers before. Don’t think it can’t happen to you too!
darkwolf5231 points9m ago
True
HarleyQuinnFartQueen [OP]1 points9m ago
Absolutely, it can happen to anyone. I encourage everyone who works in customer service to watch out for people like this.
gklaur1 points9m ago
When I worked at Starbucks, a male coworker transferred to my store because he was being stalked by a regular at the other location in town. Unfortunately, it only took about 2 weeks before the stalker found him at our store. Coworkers were all very supportive, we offered to refuse service to him (and/or “accidentally” spill a drink on him), but our coworker said it wasn’t necessary. Thankfully our coworker moved away a few months later. And surprise surprise, the stalker never came back after that.

I had a customer that I really really worked to welcome in because I could see that he felt uncomfortable in the store. The whole store did though it wasn’t just me, it was a whole team. and then he said something l just like that out loud and I was so sad and disappointed. I can see why the line got crossed I guess but I thought we were on platonic ground!
aerkyanite2 points9m ago
I think he's more "tonedeaf" than actually skeez. He sounds like he doesn't understand what's appropriate now.
ladysingtheblues2 points9m ago
Ugh
SunBusiness82911 points9m ago
Creep factor huge, and the problem is that he doesn't know that. Situation.
Broad-Flounder-49711 points9m ago
Yet another reason I will never be giving up my mask lol
