I watched the videos and read all the info and my pea brain is still too small to understand. I was hired a year ago in August 2021, and thought that the first half of my bean stock would be ready to claim, but as far as I can tell it's... not? and I'm not sure why? if anyone knows how this stuff works I would really appreciate the insight 😭

in little words to maximize understanding of complicated thing:
hired 08/21
bean stock granted 11/21
first half vests after 1 year: 11/22 (more stock granted)
second half vests after 2 years: 11/23 (also first half from previous year)

It’s vested one year after the grant, so sometime in November.

This November will be the first time bean stock is available to you and when you accept it you start the vesting period.

ok this is what I wasn't sure about!! I didn't know where to find the information when the first grant is available, and it's mildly annoying that I had to wait basically a whole extra year to get things rolling because I was hired three months after May >_> but it is what it is, thanks for the info!!

Many people think SB hands out stock at a year for each partner.
It is not, only in November. and you have to be hired before May to get any in the same year.
It equals about $500 per barista but nothing is avail this year.
next year half will be able to sell if you are still employed by SB when grants mature.
I.e. You leave Oct 30 2023 you get nothing.
