Does pulling a mobile sticker tell them it’s ready? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by gabby24681
I’ve been told various answers. I am one who likes to have all my stickers pulled and ready on the counter for me so I don’t have to waste time with them going brrrrr for five minutes each cup and I like to know what’s ahead of me, or if someone comes up asking when there’s will be ready I can give them an estimate. Sorry I’ve had to defend myself on this a lot haha.

It doesn't tell the customer it's ready, that happens when you hit the button in DPM.

I've been told that if it's busy and you pull a lot of stickers at once that tells the app that the wait time is going to be shorter than it will be, but who actually knows

Pulling a sticker affects your stores historical average wait time. If you pull multiple stickers at once your average wait time will get lower and lower. So instead of a 8-10 min wait for a mobile order at 9 AM you could be looking at a 3-6 min wait.

Pull stickers only when you are ready to make it. If you need to get cafe/cold bar orders first, push them through in DPM on your iPad.

Ok thank you. I had stopped doing it when I was told it told them it’s ready but then when they launched the dpm I was told it didn’t tell them anymore, only when we mark it ready. Good to have a clear answer that makes sense, thank you!

I don't know y'all could trigger this. I've had my app tell me it's ready an hour after I picked it up. 😂🤣

That just means the store wasn’t marking off the drinks as they were made through our DPM. This typically happens during rush times, when every second counts, and the Barista doesn’t have time to scroll through a list of 100+ drinks, find one, and click “ready.” 😬

About an hour later, someone like me comes and plays “catch up” with the app so we can start using it again accurately. 🫠

🤔 I'll be honest my favorite location is rarely busy when I go. I camp when I have time. So I think it's more that they just forget. It only just started happening last week. It's it new?

Hmm, it’s possible your store recently started using the DPM. They might not have been using it before.

Oh, okay. Thank you for explaining it to me.

if u need a sticker thats way behind other MOP stickers, you can force print it on DPM rather than pulling a bunch of stickers. this eliminates confusion and making things out of order.

How: I need to know this skill. 😃

pull up the DPM app, find the order that hasn’t been prepared yet, slide it to the right to force print the labels!
Vegan_Sweetie 1 points 9m ago
Interesting—sliding it right forces it to print? (*i’ll try this next shift*) At my store that also signals to the customers that it’s ready for pickup.
francescugh 2 points 9m ago
so yes, thats true once the stickers are pulled. but if the stickers haven’t been pulled, you can go to the tab that says “received” (or whatever it is) and then force print! only works if the labels havent been pulled. please try it out and spread all the guuuuud knowledge 🌟

It doesn’t tell them its ready, it tells the customer their order has been received, and it also triggers the app’s algorithm of how soon the order will be ready…or something like that.

It also does something that has to do with the app calculating the speediness of your store/informing customers about their anticipated wait time.

Marking an order off in the DPM is what tells the customer their order is ready.
IE— If there are a ton of mobiles sitting at the end of the counter *someone* isn’t marking the drinks off in the DPM.

Open DPM with a cue of waters when it’s slow. Give them different names or whatever you want to do. Notice how they are grayed out and unable to mark them complete until you pull the sticker. If you think Starbs isn’t using that technology to get more customers into using the mobile app then idk…🤷‍♂️
