Honestly I don’t have any sympathy for people who don’t know how to put their phone on “do not disturb”

Some of us got families and friends we care about who might need to reach out in emergency. But yeah "I was sleeping sorry I missed ur call at 2am saying my dad died" seems like a good excuse.

I think with a lot of phones now you can choose certain people that will ring through the DND! Not 100% sure but I know iPhone does that. I have it so that if someone tries to call multiple times it will then ring :)
On my worst sleep days even a lil buzz will wake me up so this has been a life saver!

It’s been a life saver to me when I used to work nights and needed to sleep during the day.

Yep, and that’s why I have my important people set to bypass the do not disturb setting.

If getting texts at odd hours isn’t a normal thing for you, you probably wouldn’t think about it. Different people have different lifestyles, social circles and expectations.

If you’re woken up at 4:30 in the morning, understandable that you’d be a bit groggy

My manager accidentally did this to a new barista because she forgot to save her number. And the new barista called her at 5am, asking about how to get into the building, but because it was that early in the morning and my manager was still waking up, thought that it was a telemarketer calling them, and went off on them about calling that earlier and promptly hung up.
Once my manager found out what she did (the new barista still came in) and felt so fucking badddddd but the barista understood and it became a running joke for a little bit lmao.
