Policy change? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Emotional_Wasabi2119
Hey y’all so I’ve been a partner for two years, and today I got out of the hospital and decide to stop by at starbucks on my way home and 15 minutes into my drive I take a sip and realize they forgot to put my shots in I’m like ahh it’s fine I’ll just stop by the one by my house and see if they can remake it. So when I get there I explain to the partner on the speaker what happened and he tells me “sorry our policy changed a few days ago, and now you have to go back to the store where you ordered from we’re not allowed to make drinks that didn’t come from our store.” I just paid for my white mocha as I wasn’t going to go back 15 minutes when I was 5 minutes away from home. But how true is that?

I have never heard of this “change” lol. We are still told “make the moment right”… which remakes are totally a part of that

I’ve not heard of such communication. They’re either extremely lazy or misinformed.

Either theyre misinformed about it being a policy or their manager told them not to remake drinks that didnt come from their store but no its absolutely not a new starbucks policy

yeah i feel it's more likely that this "policy" came from the store management. maybe too many people were asking for remakes in hopes of an extra free drink

Yea i guess cuz of that, some managers create their own store specific policy/rules. Even when it comes to people snatching or stealing a mobile order while knowing its not theirs. We've had people do that at my store before so my manager created a rule/policy thing that us partners at my store had to follow during that time. So thats definitely what it has to be when it comes to OPs situation cuz i kno for sure its not a company wide policy

They’re incorrect

If you paid with your rewards card, contact customer service and let them know and they’ll refund you. They’re really good about stuff like that

Hmm interesting to hear that other stores don’t generally do that. I work at a Tarbucks and we’ve always been told we can’t remake drinks from other stores, but maybe that’s a licensed store thing?? Not sure, but maybe an SM made that decision at that particular store. Customers abuse policies a lot and could be this store is just trying to get that under control.

its a licensed thing, since corporate locations all go to sbux then it doesn’t really matter for us and we can use the right now recovery button but licensed stores don’t get that money so licensed stores can’t remake a corporate store drink if that makes any sense.

Nope, not a new policy.

Can SM make up decisions for their own stores like that?
