marking out 50 pumps of a syrup? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by clouds183
would we get in trouble for marking out a cup of 50 pumps of syrup? is it a fireable offense?

Theoretically it’s against policy as a syrup is an ingredient and not a beverage. In practice, some managers don’t mind and 30 pumps of white mocha fill a tall cup.

How do u know this.

You can count it out but also the Beverage Resource Manual lists out the amount each pump should be dispensing when working properly.

If you ring it up a custom tea, I don’t think it would technically violate policy.

this ^ but i’d still check with the SM of shift first to avoid getting in trouble. if customers can ask for 50 pumps of syrup in a drink, why can’t we?

Don't risk your job for a $15 bottle of syrup. It's not worth it. Either purchase it, or ask before your try and mark it out. You can also get non Sbux syrups online for cheap.

how would you purchase it?
PackedRobin 5 points 9m ago
Most of our syrups can be just rung up, just scan it into the register and you can even get your discount. Some cannot, like chai and sauces like white mocha. But you can buy white mocha sauce from other sources that is very similar like Ghirardelli.

only the bottles with barcodes (vanilla, caramel, classic, and liquid cane) can be purchased. All other flavors are not able to be purchased but baristas or customers.

If you mark out like a beverage base and just put however many pumps of the syrup you want you don't actually have to make the beverage as long as the stuffs a counted for. it's one of those "were not a technically supposed to but.." kinda things

I have literally watched partners be separated over decisions like these. To my original point- NOT worth it.
