License Store Barista Question! (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by summer0524
Hello! Curious how a license store with Starbucks Connect/Mobile ordering handles/does tips?

A lot of LS don't do mobile ordering although there is testing of this. Tips are ASANTS but when I worked at Tarbucks we had to refuse and we can only accept it if they insist.

If someone insists you can accept? I remember at one of these licensed stores they told me they cant accept tips and if someone leaves it, Its gotta go in the register for the company

Yes. It's Target policy to refuse tips at first and accept only if they are persistent on giving it. We then have to report it to our lead but we never needed to put it in the register. 9/10 times people would just go "oh that sucks" but there would be some that would give us a dollar or two.

It got to a point where us baristas just accepted them anyways and told no one since it only happened like once or twice a week and was only like two dollars.

If someone leaves a tip it goes in the charity box.

Our DM is still pushing to open mobile orders by the end of October even though there’s 6 of us in total lol. We’d get a whole reboot of our system and start having the printer for the drink stickers corporate stores have. Idk about tips, but here we can’t accept them unless they “insist”. Some customers will just drop me $1-2 and say something like “oh can you throw this trash away for me” or something like that. I just shove it into my pocket and don’t tell anyone. I’m at a Kroger store.

We have connect at my store(in a kroger), there simply isn't an option for people to tip since we can't take tips because we are technically kroger workers. People still try to tip us but we like our jobs so most times we say no

I'm in s grocery store kiosk. We are not allowed tips. We also don't do mobile ordering.
