What did that one asshole customer do today? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by imlivinginurwall
I’ll go first: Acted like I was stupid for repeating his order to make sure it was right. Then caught an attitude saying “this isn’t what I ordered!”
Throwaway2937726 59 points 9m ago
Some people are so ass, dude. I always try to make sure I repeat stuff to make sure it’s right. People will get mad at anything fr.

I had someone today give me shit because I didn’t automatically know her order. She’s a regular and I’ve only been there for a week, but she just expected me to know it. So when she didn’t tell me everything she wanted, she expected it to just be there when she got her drink, and then gave me attitude when it wasn’t
GoldennTrash 37 points 9m ago
when customers get upset because they have to do the bare minimum as customers, order lol
Throwaway2937726 23 points 9m ago
Fucking LITERALLY. I was like ??? You didn’t tell me you wanted all this extra shit? And she was like “oh I thought you knew” ☠️☠️
GoldennTrash 18 points 9m ago
no lie i would have deadass told her “i get hundreds of people everyday, so i don’t know your order specifically” lol
Throwaway2937726 16 points 9m ago
Ngl I was tempted, but my manager was right there and she apologized for me cause she wasn’t watching me make it, and my manager knows this regular well apparently
bagels224357 17 points 9m ago
Entitled regulars are the worst type
Throwaway2937726 5 points 9m ago
For real

My god we had the same interaction with scepter it was a man and he said NOTHING and I mean deadass said nothing. He just grunted and gave me dirty looks and threw his hands in the air because he was frustrated that I was asking him questions on what he wanted and he looked over to my coworker and my coworker told me not to worry that he was already making his drink. Thanks dude….you wanna tell me what it is?? My god he got so bad that we were all fed up with his shit for getting annoyed at everyone who did not know his order so our manager had to come in and be like “so you ACTUALLY have to tell us what you want and stop being rude” pretty much. Now he actually tells us and I’m so happy, fuck that guy lol
xthefabledfox 43 points 9m ago
Wasn’t paying attention to us calling names. Came up to the register to tell us “I’ve been waiting for my drink and everyone else seems to have gotten theirs! Do you want to explain to me why that is?“ when we said “what’s the name on your drink?” Woman deadass replied “Karen” it was ready. Right on the edge of handoff.
dnims24 19 points 9m ago
I will admit I’ve accidentally not heard my name before but I’d never in a million years be entitled or rude about it. Sorry you had to deal with that
xthefabledfox 12 points 9m ago
I don’t mind any question a customer has as long as they’re nice about it. Even if they’re pointing out something we did wrong or they *think* we did wrong. I don’t mind 100% of the time as long as they are kind. Unfortunately more often than not that’s not how it goes at Starbucks :/
dnims24 5 points 9m ago
True true. Before I worked at my drive store I was originally always in cafe only locations and had all kinds of entitled people yelling at me about everything
MarieCrepes 34 points 9m ago
"I ordered this 15 minutes ago!"

It had been 5 minutes... they had 5 frappucinos too 😑
overturned23 25 points 9m ago
Yelled at my green bean on DTO for being out of pumpkin scones. I immediately jumped on the head set and told him to fix himself or leave. He left the line lol
hmarie0716 8 points 9m ago
See, I WISH we could do this at my store
Swan97 7 points 9m ago
Someone did that when I was leading the shift to a green bean on her 2nd day of her first ever job. The customer was ordering multiple complicated drinks really fast so the green bean asked them to slow down. The customer then decided to have an attitude with the green bean and her trainer cause she was like why are you being so rude. I kinda regret not telling the customer that with how she's acting she can go to a different starbucks cause we aren't serving her today
overturned23 1 points 9m ago
I’m not afraid to kick people out. You aren’t disrespecting my staff especially a green bean who’s terrified. Be respectful or get out. End of story.
Swan97 2 points 9m ago
Yeah I should've but the trainer was also a ssv and I didn't want to overstep. I told everyone that if it happens again kick the person out cause we aren't paid to deal with disrespect plus it's a safety thing, like if the customer can't even order without yelling then they might throw the hot coffee at you
mmms444 23 points 9m ago
Wasn't today, but other day in drive, I didn't hear one part of the drink and I saw them rolling their eyes and throwing up their hands.
Like dude, I asked you ti repeat one part if your stupid fucking drink one time. Not 500. It's not a big deal, especially cause a motorcycle went by. If it is, walk inside to order. Or buy the stuff, and make it yourself. Don't be an ass because I am trying to make sure it's correct
Veloci-Tractor 16 points 9m ago
A staff member misgendered me and corrected herself in front of a customer and then that customer proceeded to call me sir man and buddy all in one sentence.
rusted17 5 points 9m ago
Getting misgendered by other partners sucks. I honestly think I gotta talk to my sm abt it cause I get shit like this often

I’m sorry u went through this queen
Responsible_Snow7109 14 points 9m ago
>Acted like I was stupid for repeating his order to make sure it was right

When i read this first part, i thought to myself 'the only person that would get mad at that is someone who's trying to get a free drink'

>Then caught an attitude saying “this isn’t what I ordered!”

And then i kept reading and after i read this second part, i was like 'well there ya go, i hit the nail on the coffin, he immediately says its not correct or isnt what he ordered cuz thats literally why he got annoyed to begin with because OP being thorough is guna mess with his stupid scam for trying to get 2 drinks for the price of one or a free drink or something" lol i mean he literally got mad that u clarified what he was ordering...and that can only be because then he cant confidently use the "this isnt what i ordered" BS lmao he still failed at it

Today a customer was ordering brewer coffee and asked about what roasts we have, I responded “So right now we only have Pike on brew but I could do a pour over of dark or blonde if you want one of those, it just will take a few minutes” to which they proceeded to say very loudly “I know how this works I used to be a partner, god”. Mind you I’ve never seen this person, never worked with them, and had no possible way of knowing they were a partner. And even if I knew they were I still would have offered a pour over lol.
monsteralvr1 11 points 9m ago
A customer told me that I made her vscnb wrong because the sweet cream always sits at the top and the nitro is black….I told her that she might be mixing it up with the vsccb where the vsc sits on top of the ice and doesn’t mix right away, and that there’s no ice in the nitro so vsc mixes into it right away. She didn’t believe me, insisted she was right, and walked out yelling “I’ve been getting it for a year but WHATEVER”.
hmarie0716 10 points 9m ago
They’re not a regular, but just something shitty someone did.

They pulled up to the drive thru speaker, so we asked what they’d like to order. They asked for moment, so we just said, “Sure, no problem!” They then proceeded to place a mobile order for FIVE DRINKS at the speaker, and say, “I’m picking up a mobile order.”
dnims24 9 points 9m ago
It wasn’t a big altercation but yesterday someone in drive thru was picking up a mobile so I went to hand it to him. I don’t remember now exactly what it was but it was ordered and made hot but he said it was supposed to be made cold. He tried to blame us but I stepped in before he could to let him know it was mobile ordered and gave him the new one after taking the hot one.
OneRoseDark 8 points 9m ago
lost their mind about their 1 food item when i was clearly drowning on oven, and hassled the handoff partner until she was begging me to get it out IMMEDIATELY. they got broken egg bites because i didn't have time to make them good one.

Him: it’s been a while where’s my drink?
Me: sorry we’re a little backed up, what did you order?
Him: caramel frapp

I turn around to make the drink, turn back around to hand it to him and he’s standing there drinking a drink

Him: this is wrong, not what I ordered
Me: “is your name ALYSSA?”
Him: uh no??
Me: this drink is a mobile order for Alyssa, it’s not yours. Here’s your drink.
Him: oops
sets it back down on the mobile order pickup with the straw still in it and leaves with his drink

I hate when people do this. A few weeks ago a man ordered one caramel crunch. They were finishing it up at cold bar while I was at cafe bar. He pointed to a mobile order of four drinks and asked if it was his. I asked him if his name was the name on the mobile order, he said no, I explained it wasn’t his, and I turned away to get something. He walked away with those four drinks. The ladies who placed the mobile order were pissed when they came in but didn’t say that they were waiting on a mobile order 🙃
mmms444 6 points 9m ago
I really wish we could charge them when they drink someone else's drink. They are making us extra work, then they can pay extra and learn to read and wait
Routine-Telephone-38 8 points 9m ago
uhm well I’m new and it was my first time on drive and as I was greeting them they js screamed as loud as they could all up in my ear then drove off😭 idrk my partners said they do that a lot
BlacksmithOwn908 6 points 9m ago
1 minute before close comes in and orders 6 fraps, not really rude but those customers are annoying
Long-Carpenter8283 6 points 9m ago
Ordered no ice in her iced chai. Accidentally made it with ice, when I handed it to her she screamed, “excuse me ma’am this is not mine” and waved her hands in my face.

So it’s a chill Sunday. Peaceful, slow day. I’ve got nothing really to do on bar and i just made a regular’s drink incorrectly. Instead of coming to me and telling me it wasn’t right as I’m standing there with nothing to do, he goes to my shift who is on register and has a line and starts waiting for him to get done so he can tell him.

I asked him why he didn’t just tell me so i could learn how he likes his drink and his response was that he didn’t want to disturb me.

I was literally standing there doing absolutely nothing but watching his dissatisfied look and attempt at telling my shift

i’m on peak drive bar while both our mastrenas are acting up. woman comes in DT ordering super quietly and my coworker is asking her several questions to clarify.

customer: no, that’s /not it/. they know me here, they know my drink. it’s melissa.

me: does anyone know melissa’s drink?

not a single person in the store recognized it and she rolled her eyes at the window before speeding off

She orders a grand white mocha .I tell her we are out of white mocha as a there is a shortage. She then proceeds to yell at me (a 17 year old high schooler) about how this is bs and there has to be something i can do. A grown woman threw a hissy fit about white mocha. I just stood there and smiled.
