Ugh yeah. I've literally had old guys grab my shoulder before like WHAT ARE YOU DOING.

The last time I worked at Starbucks back in 2020 there was this one elderly man with the longest, nastiest Dracula type nails... one day he dragged his nasty ass nails over the entire length of my hand and I can still remember how sick I felt after 😭 I refused to serve him after that he was genuinely disgusting and his nails were like black with grime

Yup there was one guy in particular who always did it, no matter how carefully I try to hand him anything. Always paid in cash too so I'd have to have my hand touched a few times per transaction.

And the women who drag those long, dirty fake nails along your hand as they grab the cup right where you’re holding it. I’m holding it from the bottom for a reason.

I will say it's not just men. People of all genders are gross and touch my whole ass man hand when I hand out drinks. Literally want to scream every time it happens

I never hand sh*t to anyone ever more, even cash and coins are put down on the counter so they can pick it up their-damn-selves

This 70 year old crotchety hunched over man came inside looking creepy as fuck and immediately had a this creepy smile once he saw me, I took his order and he ordered a venti latte and I said hot or iced and this man went “hot.. like you”

ITS NOT JUST MEN. 3 DAYS AGO I WAS DOUBLE DRIVING DURING PEAK AND I WAS WAITING FOR THIS LADY TO ROLL DOWN THEIR WINDOW TO PAY. SHE WAS LOOKING AWAY AND WAS ARM DEEP DIGGING FOR GOLD INTO HER NOSE. THIS WENT ON FOR A WHOLE MINUTE AND THEN SHE FINALLY LOOKED AT ME AND HER CARD WAS SO GRIMY. HER NAILS WERE SO LONG AND TOUCHED EVERY INCH OF MY HAND. I CRINGED, GAG, THREW UP, CRIED AND DIED. I WASHED MY HANDS FOR SO LONG

I had a customer stroke my arm from the elbow down while trying to hand off his drink. I started slamming his drinks down on the counter out of reach from him and using something else to slide it towards him.

I had a lady grab my hand while taking her drink, all while telling me that she just got out of the hospital with pneumonia.

My situation is a little different im gender fluid and am a guy but there have been a few female partners that have touch my shoulder waist or back a little to weird its not that typical tap on the shoulder its more of that slow rub ah dub dub 😅🤣 a few are engage or in a relationship im like gobble down a refresher to chill a little lol

for some fucking reason so many people feel the need to grab the drink from me the way I'm holding it, motherfucker i'm holding it in a way that gives you as much space to grab it as possible. Don't grab it by the millimeters of space around my fingers.

On the other hand why do I accidentally touch customers fingers when I take their card

This literally happened to me today in drive thru.. gave him enough room to grab his drinks and he still had to clasp his hand around mine 😭💀

So glad I’m at a store with no drive thru so I can leave the drink on the counter and never have anyone touch me 🤮

Pull the drink back, look them dead in the eyes, and tell them “don’t fucking touch me”, then let someone else hand it to them while you stare them down.

You should be handing the drink out by the lid so the only option for the customer is to grab the cup. This is standard. Tends to help. But if they still touch your hand just drop there drink and make them feel bad for the obviously unwanted physical touch. Or…Speak up. I’m sure your fellow baristas will stick up for you when it happens.

This happens all the time when I’m on drive through. And they even do it in front of their girlfriends/wives who are two busy with their noses buried in their phones. I’m also very obviously trans as I have a heart-shaped pin in the trans colors, a she/her pronoun pin, and the trans flag on my name tag. 😬😩

In the drive thru, use a steaming pitcher or gif here mug to hand it off (just like we would for a personal cup in cafe)
