**sorry if this is too long to read**
before i say anything else i wanna say that i suffer from chronic pain, i have palpitations, sharp chest pains and it’s hard to breathe sometimes. i faint pretty often too. i say chronic because the pain rarely goes away i’ve seen many doctors for over a year and no one knows what’s going on🥲 well i clocked in this morning and i was put on cold bar, i was doing fine for the first hour but then two baristas left and i was put on bar 2 during rush, the cafe was packed with customers waiting for their drinks and i was flooded with mobile orders too, about 15 mins later a very rude customer starts yelling at me, telling me to do my job right(that same customer yelled and cussed at a coworker a few months ago), she was getting really aggressive but nobody tried to help me, i asked my ssv to help me with the situation but she didn’t do anything. so i went to the back to drink water and fight my tears i was shaking and my chest was hurting really bad, i wasn’t taking a break so my ssv told me to go to dt/oven until my break. the pain got worse but everything else was fine until i went back on the floor after break, customers were being so rude and more baristas were leaving so we were really understaffed.
an hour later the sm came in to help, i told him it was getting really hard to talk and move around because i couldn’t really breathe and i was in pain but he didn’t do anything about it. he still kept me on dt/oven until the end of my shift. he also got upset because i couldn’t stay past my shift.
i get that we were really understaffed but i feel like my condition isn’t taken seriously. i have told my old sm and the new one about it but it’s seems like they “forget” abt it. i also turned in paperwork from my cardiology appointments (months ago), i have no idea what’s going on, idk what to think. i’m about to quit because i don’t feel comfortable working there anymore.

If you’ve already spoken to your SM about it and have proof from your appointments there really is no reason anyone should be forgetting about it. Your shift and your manager should be checking in on all their baristas on the floor, especially during peak. I understand you guys were understaffed and it was peak time but you spoke up… they could have given you some form of comfort or empathy. A quick 2-5 minute water break, switching positions, something.
As for you not being able to stay past your scheduled time, don’t even feel bad. It is not your responsibility to stay and help out if you’re already scheduled to be off the clock. Your ssv/SM need to do better, idk that behavior is so weird to me.

Im so sorry :/
That’s really not okay for them to not hear you out when you are not feeling well and have a complex medical history. Unless there’s another conversation you can have with SM or someone higher up, it may be time to prioritize your health and well being and quit like you mention you’re thinking about. Never an easy decision but unfortunately it sounds like you’re not being supported or looked out for where you’re at and that sucks. Really hope you can get some answers and feel a bit better - best of luck
