we have a woman who comes in and orders a caramel frappuccino with cold brew instead of frap roast, do we charge for the cold brew or not?? she was very angry that we charged her a tall cold brew and yelled at us because her daughter works at starbucks so she never has to pay that much…

You are technically supposed to ring it through as a cold brew with frap modifications... My manager had a fit over this a few months ago. It makes sense inventory wise. So, for example for a coffee frap: cold brew, no water, splash of milk, frap base, ice, blended. You can also say in the ask me what it is!

BLESS YOU, THAT MAKES PERFECT SENSE

I would say this is the best answer. Either way I really wouldnt charge her for 2 separate drinks (i think some people here think you are charging her for both a frap and a tall cold brew, and I am unclear on whether that's the case or not.)
florencelovelace [OP]1 points9m ago
yes it was but it wasn’t me it was my ssv that charged her that. it was the first time we encountered someone asking for that drink so we were unclear how to go by it

I dont think so. I think it'd be the same as subbing shots for frappe roast. Just gotta be careful with hoe much you put in

Why would you charge for a tall cold brew? That is significantly more… she just wants a splash of cold brew to substitute the frappe roast

This is interesting. Cold brew frap. Have you connected to your ssv or sm about this? They should have an answer
florencelovelace [OP]13 points9m ago
it was my ssv that said to charge them for a tall cold brew we where all just shocked by the ladies reaction to it that it made them unsure if they should charge them again like that next time

I’d be pissed If you charged me for a whole extra drink for 2 oz of cold brew lol
durqandat7 points9m ago
Yeah no we do not charge for an entire second drink just to swap one ingredient because dafuq

a entire tall cold brew is insane, i would charge for a shot and ring an ask me?
florencelovelace [OP]1 points9m ago
i told my ssv this today and it’s most likely how we’ll start charging it going forward (:

I really feel like because it’s such a small amount you could keep it as a frapp and do an ask me. The inventory won’t die because one customer does this. The amount is the equivalent of spilling a tiny bit of cold brew when you’re pouring it in the keg.
Someone else said to do a cold brew with frapp modifications but a cold brew drink would use so much more cold brew than a frapp would. I dunno. I mean if it’s somehow an official rule fair enough but it seems like it would alter inventory more than just subbing it out would. It’s not a hill I would die on but that’s my reasoning for not worrying about it. I don’t know what the price difference between the two drinks would be but that’s worth looking at too.
