“Yes, hello. May I please have a cold coffee with hot steamed milk mixed in? My coffee must be tepid but ‘fancy’” 😑
szhou00925 points9m ago
There's nitro milk at reserve. Not sure if it could be half nitro milk and coffee
Stabby-Roomba34 points9m ago
Nitro milk sounds terrifying
5962596217 points9m ago
Gaseous milk?!🤢🤢
totallyNotEvie85893 points9m ago
😳
jeonzelink1 points9m ago
that would create bacteria if you mix cold and hot together .. what is starbucks thinking
bookishwannabe146 points9m ago
my brain said “nee-tro mees-tro”
heartbreakhigh [OP]96 points9m ago
if this ever becomes a thing Ill definitely be whispering neetro meestro to myself as I make it now lol
NoFriendsLive72 points9m ago
My sub has a nitro button as well
heartbreakhigh [OP]66 points9m ago
🥵sounds hot
sugarhiccccup3 points9m ago
🤣
totallyNotEvie858914 points9m ago
why does a sandwich need to go that fast?
Successful-Rub-31383 points9m ago
Whoa nitro
jordanshaw8956 points9m ago
Knowing starbies, it’s probably like extra cold foam with the nitro, seeing as “we’re getting handheld blenders to make being a barista easier!” Or something like that….
Have_Donut81 points9m ago
Probably the same person in marketing who keeps pushing the lemonade cold brew
ElijahLordoftheWoods24 points9m ago
Has anyone actually had a customer order it? We’ve gotten plenty of cold foam chai orders but not a single lemonade cold brew ordered
trmbnplyr199310 points9m ago
I've had 3 people order it while I've been working since it has come out.
oddbitch2 points9m ago
One did in order to taste test it with all her friends, lol.
purpleelephant776 points9m ago
Ok I actually like cold brew lemonade 🙈
sugarhiccccup16 points9m ago
Lock yourself up right this instant
Jfostr05 points9m ago
That stuff was seriously gross. Now lemonade with some VSC foam on it? That’s a tangy treat right thurr
ForbesyJr5 points9m ago
Lemonade cold brew ain’t it, but a lemon drop is fire
Lcolecrochet17 points9m ago
Oh my god adding emulsion blenders on top of the already crowded bar, no thanks.
barlemniscate3 points9m ago
What are emulsion blenders? Is something changing?
Lcolecrochet4 points9m ago
They’re little handheld blenders. Nothings changing as far as we know, we’re just speculating. I can’t imagine having yet another tool sitting on the bar a specially just for one drink.
heartbreakhigh [OP]12 points9m ago
unfortunately you're so right
jams101550 points9m ago
Imagine a tap of milk, infused with nitrogen... fill half the cup with the nitro milk, half with the nitro brew. Boom, nitro misto.
Probably not really, but that's what it made me think of.
canidieyet_60 points9m ago
milk on tap sounds like a breeding ground for bacteria & spoiled milk
jams101519 points9m ago
I've had mastitis, you don't scare me!
:P
olivinemultichrome12 points9m ago
This used to be a thing and it was discontinued for that reason
WAtransplant20219 points9m ago
There used to be a thing called a Sure Shot, we used it for Frappuccinos. It is essentially a $1
If it wasn't religiously cleaned, it got NASTY fast.
canidieyet_4 points9m ago
omg. those are the things mcdonald’s uses for their cream—thankfully we were really good about keeping it clean but if it got missed it was absolutely disgusting
Calsan13 points9m ago
There were select stores in Seattle that actually HAD nitro milk for a while and used it to make nitro lattes. They also had nitro peach tea which lowkey slapped, but no longer exists.
heartbreakhigh [OP]9 points9m ago
i was thinking something along these lines as well!
Responsible_Snow710919 points9m ago
Aerated milk and aerated nitro lol
bitter-barista15 points9m ago
It's a drink that's at the big Roasteries! It is nitro infused milk with the nitro cold brew. It's incredibly creamy and delicious without any thing else added. I had one last year at the New York Roastery when I visited!
heartbreakhigh [OP]5 points9m ago
oh cool thank you for cracking the code! I'd be really interested in seeing how their tap system works
cookiekylie11 points9m ago
Satanic juice
heartbreakhigh [OP]4 points9m ago
omg fancy seeing u here partner
cookiekylie3 points9m ago
I am fancy thank you for asking💃🏻
darkwolf5237 points9m ago
Mhmm cold coffee with hot milk. My favorite
Notsotaciturn6 points9m ago
My brain just exploded.
Defiant-Rent-32405 points9m ago
Is the nitro misto steamed or is it just half 2% in a nitro?
silksinthemilks5 points9m ago
you’re kidding right
spicyspinach4 points9m ago
Probably milk infused in nitro, i saw a coffee shop has oat milk nitro 🥹
IdLikeToBuyA-Vowel4 points9m ago
Sounds fancy
borrowedurmumsvcard3 points9m ago
so are you a sub or a nitro misto bbg ;)
heartbreakhigh [OP]4 points9m ago
inside of me there are two wolves
sir_ramen3 points9m ago
Bottom or Top basically.
starvingchild2 points9m ago
I imagine extra cold foam on the bottom of the cup and nitro on top of that.
Calm_Preference62092 points9m ago
Insane considering we can’t have our nitro working for a couple days straight
heartbreakhigh [OP]2 points9m ago
sameeeee, ive been at my store for a year and we've served nitro for maaaaaybe one week out of that time. Our dm has no interest in getting the tap fixed because "if we fix/replace the old nitro system now we might not be able to get you guys the new one!" but its been a year and we're still stuck serving cold brew from 2L pitchers lol
Rugerdawg_H2O1 points9m ago
Finna go order a cappuccino with pumpkin sauce today. Gonna be the first person ever to order that
Ok-Start-6768-57 points9m ago
Misto is drip coffee with steamed milk (which you should’ve known from training?) and so common sense here indicates what?
heartbreakhigh [OP]24 points9m ago
ive been a shift for a year and worked in coffee prior to this job as well; I understand the general concept of a misto💀 I was just flipping through the regional/test tab today and hadnt seen anyone talk abt this drink yet. ive also worked at a place that had an "iced cafe au lait" before that was just iced coffee with extra cold milk, and wasnt sure if starbucks was going in that direction or not as my region doesnt serve this.
Ok-Start-6768-32 points9m ago
Cafe au lait is the same as a misto just in different languages. Starbucks uses a lot of Latin origin for naming while many American coffee shops use French or more European based dialects
heartbreakhigh [OP]17 points9m ago
yeah, but since we dont offer an "iced misto" at starbucks, i wasn't sure if the nitro misto might encorporate some other element aside from cold milk (like aeration as some other users have mentioned) but who knows if it will even launch passed the test phase
OakTreeTrash10 points9m ago
It says nitro misto. So it is not talking about a traditional misto. Also nitro cold brew with steamed milk would be a weird temperature. This person knows what a misto is. But what the button is talking about isn’t that.
Ok-Start-6768-11 points9m ago
It wouldn’t be steamed milk it would be frothed. Aeration in the milk is what differentiates a misto and a splash of milk
