A little rant (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by PAP1K1
I’ve been at Starbucks for a year now this month, and I’m thinking about quitting at the end of the year. It sucks too because I genuinely enjoy the job, but management and other factors push me away. I feel like there’s a lot wrong with the company and so much disconnect from SM’s and higher ups. I know this isn’t a new subject, but since the beginning of summer it’s really made me dread going into a job I used to always look forward to go to. I could go on for a while but I’m gonna keep it short. Mostly great experiences with everyone I met. Just tired of it now.

I get it. I never thought I’d enjoy this job as much as I do but this job makes me genuinely happy… until I’m on Drive-Thru bar at the busiest store in my STATE with no customer support because the SM didn’t make the schedule correctly. It does get annoying at times but it’s a small price to pay for having a job that I love.

I understand the frustration but there's no mention of the cause. What's up? Could be a multitude of things.

Understaffing a lot, even when we have the right amount of people to work. Also we were shortened to only 4-4.5 hour shifts and that wasn’t worth the drive for me so I tried to transfer to a new Starbucks and my manager stalled it for about 4-5 months and impacted my gas spending a lot when gas prices were at its peak 😭 some other stuff too like two people having panic attacks during a really bad rush when a new Amazon store opened in our shopping area and no help was called for them. There’s a few other things but I can’t list too much as I’m on my break rn
