If the store sucks, it's not an indictment on you, you can't control everything. You can either learn to live in a situation where you can't succeed but still get paid, you can request a transfer, or you can find new work while employing strategy #1 during the process.

the place wouldn’t run. like genuinely we don’t have enough people to cover basic positions. we have so many call outs and SM refuses to hold anyone accountable.

Then I’d consider a new job or a transfer if possible tbh. If it’s that bad and it’s either burn out or escape :( or hold it together in hopes of better.
