i quit a couple weeks ago but shortly before i did, my store got a new manager. i need a reference that said using my old manager would be good but i didn’t work with her for very long and honestly don’t think she liked me very much lol. would it be okay for me to use my original manager? she’s also the one that hired me. id also ask if she was okay with it beforehand

You can use whoever you want. You can even put a friend and say they were your manager.
Talk to the person you want to use.

No

I don’t think it’s illegal but if it ever came out that it was fraudulent information your future employer would probably question your integrity for a while

There's a whole reddit page that let people be there references. I think jts like r/references or something close like that

You can absolutely use your old manager. You didn’t work with the new manager long enough for them to give a fair opinion, weather good or bad, on your performance. But always make sure to ask, you want to make sure that whoever is giving the reference knows that is coming their way lol
