As I described in the title, I have been applying and interviewing for multiple Starbucks locations for months and never seem to get past the interview. Tommorow I am attending an open house and this will be my 5th interview, and I want to know if there is something I’m doing wrong.
For the most part, I have tried to seem friendly, approachable and put together. I lack retail experience, and so my answers to the interview questions, while honest, aren’t likely the same as everyone else’s (I mention like school stuff). Is this part of the problem?
I am somewhat of a nervous person as well, and am neurodivergent, and am wondering if this is also part of the issue.
I even interviewed at the Starbucks closest to me and despite the interview seemingly going well I got a rejection in less than an hour.
TLDR: If you have any help or advice I’d be incredibly happy to hear it

incorporate sentences such as, “starbucks has always been my third place as a customer.” “i would love to be able to inspire and nurture the human spirit community with coffee. “to me, it’s not just a coffee shop, it’s starbucks.” your store manager will LOVE that someone did research or is that into starbucks company.

okay and this is exactly what managers wanna hear LOL. starbucks is corny as hell with all their mission statements and values despite the fact that they don’t actually mean them

Could be based on availability. Every store has a need.

The Starbucks at most airports are hiring. If I was going to interview you I would like to hear about your reliability. I’m big on that. I can teach almost anyone how to do the job but I cannot make people reliable if they are not.
Good luck!

lots of stores in my experience are looking for non-seasonal partners. it also varies per starbucks but in general it can be pretty high stress and fast moving so mentioning your nervousness might be what's causing them to look elsewhere. they wont actually tell you that outright because of the law.

Honestly if they ask you why you wanna be there and you want to utilize a benefit we have like the free college or insurance, than say that. Two managers I’ve worked with say they hire people that say that Bc then it means they have a reason to want to work

is that for part time too or no
starbucksbarist282 points9m ago
Yes! You only have to average 20 hours per quarter to qualify, but I don’t know how strict they are on that Bc I don’t know anyone that doesn’t qualify

it could very much be availability based- if you can , have open super availability for hire than in a couple months u can adjust it
