When to look into medical leave (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Jasreha
Hi everyone! I’m a 1.5 year partner and just recently transferred to a reserve roastery. The transfer overall was very chaotic and still isn’t completely smoothly transitioned even a month and a half later, and I’m having a lot of issues with my anxiety and depression, which I suspect is stemming a lot from the unresolved portions of my transfer, as well as several recent emergencies.

This is my third time so far calling off for anxiety related issues. I haven’t been in therapy in a while (I reached out to my former Lyra therapist this morning to try to get back in with her), and due to issues with my pay, getting my medication for my depression and my ADHD has been impossible — last night I started considering looking into a short term medical LOA to get my anxiety back under control, but, as per usual with my brain, I’m doubting if things are “bad enough” to justify it.

I just need some advice, I suppose.

I will say that in order to be paid for short term MLOA you need documents from your doctor attesting to the fact that you are unable to work. As for unpaid leave, you may be able to just take one. But if income is an issue you should get your doctor beforehand to ensure you’ll get those docs in properly
