Recently was trained on how to do tips, but it takes me like 2-3 hours and I usually go over my scheduled time so does anyone have any advice to speed up the process?

I did tips for years..I downloaded a money counter app in my phone. So you would just enter how many of each coin and bill and it would calculate the amount for you. It saved a bit of time. I also recommend listening to music or an audiobook to drown out other people while you are counting. My partners were sticklers and it had to be counted and distributed to the T (and I’m talking it would be like 2.53538492627 and I would have to multiply everyone by that) no rounding or anything until it was time to put the amount in the bags. Some stores have a counter that would separate the coins and then roll it, and some partners used the cash counter which to me was never accurate with how many coins we had and took me the same amount of time as I would using the app since I would count as I separated it out. The more you do tips the faster you’ll get

We have a money counter thankfully and we round to the nearest dollar. The first few times I did tips I forgot my earbuds but the most recent time I remembered to bring them and honestly listening to music made the process a lot nicer. Thanks for the response.

Dto rolls the coins between cars. We have the coin counters and bags there in the drive thru so they have what they need. Only rolled coins are allowed in the tip bags so when I start tips I just change those out for bills first. Honestly just not having to roll the coins saves so much time. We round to the nearest dollar. I understand that not every store does this so you might need to talk to your SM about it. My store has always rounded so it's not a big deal but I know some stores like it to be exact. If that's your store case then it is going to take longer which sucks.

Ahh I wish we had time to roll coins in between cars! We're just so busy all the time but it sounds nice! I roll the coins and that's honestly the longest process, that and separating bills. Thankfully we round to the nearest dollar, I'd hate to round to the exact amount, that sounds awful.

We're busy too. Every ten minutes or so (waiting for a wrap, slow order at dto whatever) just pull the coins in and put them in the sorter. We do upper 90s half hours and have time, just have to develop a pattern 👍

Do that let you use the cash master to count or do you have to count by hand? That would probably save a lot of time.

Yep we use the cash counter. Honestly I think rolling coins takes the longest for me, I have trouble getting them into the sleeves.
