I've been told the CEO is coming a fair amount of times in my 12 years. They *always* cancel without saying otherwise. I love that the CEO no call no shows and is never held accountable.
Enkeria9244 points9m ago
CEO ≠ owner. The OWNER is Howard Schultz.
MysticsWonTheFinals4 points9m ago
(I mean, he’s the largest stakeholder but he only owns a little over 2%)
Enkeria92-1 points9m ago
Howard literally FOUNDED the company. He’s the owner. Lol.
Ze_eq4 points9m ago
Nah he came in like 10 years after it was founded. But he was a big reason for how the stores are today
maddogracer1612 points9m ago
Jerry Baldwin founded starbucks.
maddogracer1611 points9m ago
starbucks is publicly traded...there isn't an "owner" per-say, which is why I said CEO.

Howard! Don’t go in nervous. He will be nice. Some people love him. Others hate him. Honestly he’s done some amazing things and some very crappy things. Make your own opinion of him when you meet him. Be friendly and professional. It will all be good. 🙂
Not_Another_Karen46 points9m ago
Thank you, it was just so unexpected! Why my store? Aha.
My goodness, my DM makes me shy since he is an important man, let alone Howard!

Please don't ever let your DM intimidate you. I respected my DM so much when I first started. Then he accused me of talking about my sex life with the partners. I told my SM I never wanted to be in the same room as him ever again after that.
Itchy_Cranberry897013 points9m ago
Good luck today! Let us know how it goes. 😊
impossiblegirlme8 points9m ago
This is great advice! I’ve met him numerous times. He’s always been nice.

Y’all should vote to unionize tomorrow
absolutefoo51 points9m ago
Your asm said no other details to uncle howie coming??? Our store is kinda 🥴 about him
bunnysbigcookie40 points9m ago
i remember loving uncle howie and then he got mad at unions and i realized he’s kind of awful lol
absolutefoo5 points9m ago
yeah a lot of my partners have always like shivered speaking abt him and knowing he came back to solely grab control of others lives i was like alright my guy
Not_Another_Karen23 points9m ago
Not really, just happened to notice they got an email today saying he was coming tomorrow.
LaurdAlmighty47 points9m ago
EAT HIM
Professional_Pack22522 points9m ago
Chew him up spit him and chew him again 😳 regurgitate him!
he should come and visit our store tbh. where is your store located? we are on the east coast and the busiest store in our state.
Affectionate_Fart20 points9m ago
I would LOVE that experience. I just got done with a DM meeting (with our SMs), luckily I got everyone to do clean plays over the weekend while our manager was out.
Not_Another_Karen16 points9m ago
My team and I just scrubbed everything top to bottom as soon as I found out.
I love the banter and sass my DM and I share, so our meetings are always quite fun. This however is an experience I never thought I would get. 😭❤️
RyusuiJL18 points9m ago
I would have not gone to any extremes. Let him see the typical state of the store and realize how strained we can be. See if he actually cares to help remedy the situation, or only has criticism to toss around.
transzalore14 points9m ago
I truly believe he and other figureheads at the Siren don't care a bit. Corporate industry leaders are so far removed from the day-to-day, 90% of their day is spent in meetings to conceptually make the company "better" without actually knowing what that means giving workers.
Cafe culture is dying, everything is get-in/get-out, and instead of giving us a way to manage mobile orders, they prattle on about the "Third Place" and fostering inclusion, while removing Pride flags except in June and expecting 40-second drive times AND actual conversations to happen between humans for Connection scores.
The store they visit could've been on fire the day before, and they would just comment on the ashy counters and the smell of smoke.
Itchy_Cranberry89704 points9m ago
They said next CEO is going to start off spending a couple of weeks as a barista in a store - granted it will probably be in one of the more updated stores. I’ll be curious if that changes anything though. It’s not a ton of time to see what all goes on in a store but maybe it will help.
AltoUltra10 points9m ago
treat him like a friend, in a professional way of course. just have fun with the experience! good luck!
SelloutDude9 points9m ago
If you own stock, you're an owner. I wouldn't be too worried about it.
Right-Individual-1349 points9m ago
Yess^ I was just about to say. Starbucks has MANY owners, including us, that's why we're called partners (we all have equal share in the company's stock, which makes us part owner of the company)
sten459 points9m ago
Ask about unions if you meet him
Socko-The-Sock6 points9m ago
If I had the chance I would straight up ask why the company hired Pinkertons to fight unionization.
jazzysoranio5 points9m ago
Technically there is no owner of all Starbucks. If I had to guess, I’d guess that Howard is the closest to being the biggest owner of Starbucks. But if you own stock in the company you technically own a percentage of the company so there no one person who owns the whole company.
Vegan_Sweetie2 points9m ago
Just be polite and kind to everyone and it should all be good. 🤗💞

Howie is king I'm jealous !!!
nikkicarter111119 points9m ago
Howie is a union buster who's jumping ship next month and handing the company over to Laxman Narasimhan, ex-CCO of PepsiCo.
Itchy_Cranberry89706 points9m ago
Luckily Laxman has a great reputation at the companies he has worked for. If you look him up online or even on here you would see that a lot of people at Reckitt (where he was CEO AFTER his time at PepsiCo) are really sad that he’s leaving. He hasn’t done anything for partners to be against him yet. Not sure of his stance on unions yet, but he does seem to have the company’s best interest at heart so far.
