Rinse water shaken espresso??(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by AdExtra9965
Have any of you lovely people ever accidentally put a rinse shot in a drink?
I got my after work drink and a new fellow barista made it. I didn’t taste it until I was already driving home and she tasted a little off from usual. Not sure if it was just made with regular dead shots or if a rinse shot got in there.…..now I’m trying not to have a panic attack about if I’m going to get sick 😅
(Btw not the rinse after you pill it at night! That would definitely be toxic lol just the regular rinse option between shots. I’m hearing mixed things about if it comes from the regular filtered water or not, bc those rinse shots never really come out totally clear)

rinse shots just clean pick up espresso on the way out. all water from the taps are filtered.
also the bar tabs? those are basically tums. they're foodsafe. you won't get "sick" if you ate an entire tab, but there's not meant to be eaten whole either. just a fun fact.
(my coworker ate one)

Those rinse shots won't harm you in any way.

Ok thank you so much:) I appreciate you, I was probably just feeling extra anxious because I was stressed and overly caffeinated after a long shift!

As other commenters said - rinses are just water clearing the pour spout, and the espresso machine is hooked up to filtered water
So if you got a rinse shot it’s just watered down!
