Reapplying need help with interview / pay expectations(self.starbucksbaristas)

Hi guys today I have an interview at a new store it’s been about a year since I’ve worked for the siren. I just couldn’t stay away. I am Currently employed at chick fil a at $15.00 an hour.
My question is since I have worked for the siren before (1 year) during my interview should I ask for $16.50? Or even $17.00 is that too much to ask for? I know it starts off at $15.00 for entry level.
I have 6 plus years experience working in fast paced environments, taking orders and connecting with guests. I know I definitely deserve more than the minimum of 15.00

$16.50-$17 is what 3-5+ year baristas are making. Starbucks doesn’t do merit based raises, only tenure raises.

I do not think they do raises or pay negotiations like that (I’m not sure they have ever done that, at least not in a long time). Since you’ve been away, unless you were a tenured employee, on leave, or are interviewing for a SSV position, you will likely start at $15 like everyone else.

Yeah it’s been a while, yeah it’ll just be a barista position unless they offer a shift position. I don’t mind starting at $15.00 however I know I’m worth more than that. Also since the store won’t need to take long in training me. I feel like I wanna ask for more then $15.00 an hour rate

I wouldn’t expect anything to come out of that conversation since your tenure resets after resigning and rehiring. Current Baristas that have worked for Starbucks for a year only make $15.

Training has been completely changed in the past year, so while you know the basics like brewing a batch of drip and what a latte is, they’ll still be going through the whole training process with you. Most of us are worth more than $15/hr; I know people with wholeass degrees stuck here because they can’t find anything better atm in their desired field. It ain’t right but that is where we are currently.

Hi! 6+ year partner who just stepped down to barista from being a SM for 2.5 years, and all I could negotiate was $17. So I don’t think your gonna get more than that if I couldn’t even get more than $17.

It’s unlikely you’ll get above $15 unless the store you’re applying to is desperate for partners honestly
You can ask for sure, but it also has to be approved by the DM, it’s not just up to the SM interviewing you
