current ssv with no degree looking for a new job, have 4 interviews for secretary positions coming up, 1 for a 911 operator, and 1 for an assistant funeral director. this is how i phrased it:
Leads a team of 20+ employees in fulfilling brand standards
Analyzes inventory trends and processes orders with regional distribution centers multiple times each week
Responsible for daily operations of a high cash flow business in the absence of a manager

I know a lot of people who have gone into banking (ie, bank teller) directly after Starbucks. Other things I’ve seen people pursue post-bux are TLA’s (time limited assignments) with Corporate (I’m near the SSC here in Seattle, so that’s probably why a lot of people I know have transitioned into those positions. Not sure if they’re available outside WA.), EMT/medical positions, education, etc. There’s also an easy transition to restaurant positions.
Definitely depends on skill level/education/desires, but there are options. Don’t underestimate the interpersonal, leadership, and time management skills you gain from being an SSV!
