Do y’all get consistent hours, meaning that you know every week you’ll work these days at certain time every week?(self.starbucksbaristas)

My fast food restaurant job gives me 10 hours a week others 12 and honestly that is disrespectfully. I plan my life and leave room to work then I don’t work and that’s just time that I have wasted not being productive.
Is it any different working for Starbucks?

It honestly varies between store manager to store manager. For me, my schedule is consistent in the sense of what times I work but not the days. For example, this week I worked 3:30-10:30 Thurs-Sun, last week I worked 3:30-10:30 Wed, Fri-Sun.

Yup and it's the opposite for me. I know I'll always have Sunday/Monday off, but the times that I work are completely random (because I have open availability, some people at my store who don't basically have set schedules)

There is too many variables to be able to really answer as the ultimate answer it depends on the store. Currently if you to work at corp store, you must work minimum 12 hours and have availability of 18 hours. Store manager is required to schedule you for 12 hours at minimum, anything above that depends on store need, amount of labor hours corp gave the store, number of partners available to work, your actual availability is it when demand is high etc?

Now that I’m an ASM, yes consistent 40 hours a week. But as a shift and barista nope. 35 hours one week, 27 the next, 38 the following. I will say that my schedule is all over the place now. One night i’m closing, the next i’m mid and the next I’m opening.

Nope. Different shift every day every week

When things are stable yes! are things stable? Rarely.

Once, I was scheduled only 15 hours. Last week 25 hours. This week only 18. Depends on the location.

in the few months i’ve been here i haven’t had an issue with getting the hours i need. when i first started i wanted 30 max, but i soon realized i could work more and really wanted the money and as soon as i told my manager that, he gave me 35-40 each week. i have heard horror stories from other baristas on here though so it definitely depends on your manager.

I work the same days every week (it switches around if I’m doing clean play though, we do clean play on Mondays, so on weeks i work clean plays I work Monday, Wednesday-Friday, and Sunday, on weeks i don’t do clean play I work Tuesday-Friday and Sunday). I don’t get scheduled at the exact same time every week, but it’s pretty consistently around the same time (I usually come in at 2 PM or 3 PM)

honestly sometimes i get 10, other times i get 20, it fluctuates just as much but depends on your store. when i worked at another fast food place, their schedule was a lot more rigid and fixed, so it was a weird switch but i was welcome to it. at the fast food place, it was constant torment because we always had a huge line, so barely anyone wanted to take peoples shifts. at starbucks, it’s a lot more manageable (most of the time), and ppl will be more open to taking shifts.

I get minimum 34 hrs a week but i work for a Airbucks so im sure that makes a difference. corporate store are awful about giving consistent schedules
