For some reason my district really just goes ‘fuck the rules’. Multiple locations in my district do not follow standards or policy. It’s really pick and choose with each manager and it gives me a headache. 🙄

i fully agree on saying no to the “in a trenta” customization, but it’s not against policy to add espresso to a trenta drink. like 100% iced lattes should not being going into trenta cups. that being said cold brews and ice coffees are fully able to have shots put in them.

yeah those were excluded in my comment . i’m just not over here allowing trenta lattes or allowing customers to break rules . shots in a coffee or cold brew are fine . i’m just not doing lattes or iced espressos

I truthfully believe people make customization strictly because they can. Like they're going to notice one less pump of WM or 1 more pump of caramel... Just order the drink as it is on the menu. maybe add a shot. But these "secret menu" hacks are obscene.

I had someone order 2 tall java chip fraps. But one with 1 extra scoop of chips. I already hate making tall size fraps but to have to make 2 separate ones because of a stupid customization.

Agreed. I wish there was a limit to the customizations one can make through the app. Forcing them to order it to my face so they can feel the sheer embarrassment of having to recite that shit aloud. :)

Usually, I just be straightforward and say, “Hi! Do you mind speaking louder or getting closer to the speaker? I’m having a hard time hearing you and want to make sure I ring your order up correctly.”

It’s nice way of asking them not to do that.

I work at a location where it’s normal to get this kind of behavior. People want their order to be perfect but want you to ask them as little as possible. It’s so dumb. It takes everything in me not to roll my eyes at customers like that but I just laugh them off. That way, It gets the point across that they’re the one being ridiculous and you are just doing your job as best as you can. We have the advantage to let them implicitly know they suck without saying much. Their drink is the priority, their attitude isn’t.
