The $15 minimum is now for the entire US. (You can search news posts on partner hub to be sure.) My area was at the previous minimum of $12 but went up to $15 in August.

I heard this too but my SM swore that wasn't the case and kind of siked me out of moving away earlier 😭

What's the minimum wage there, if you know it?? This helps thank you!!
Solid_Wish 4 points 9m ago
Last time i checked, 10.50! You can DM if you're moving to LV specifically, maybe I can help?
coexistjay 3 points 9m ago

in august they made it so all corporate locations should be 15. don’t let your boss lie to you
coexistjay 4 points 9m ago
Yeah i saw the weekly update and asked about it but my sm straight said "no that's not for everyone it's regional" and it confused me ??? my sm
also has made it clear they wanted me to never leave the store im at so maybe that has something to do w it

Company wide barista starting pay is $15
ConfusionDisastrous8 4 points 9m ago
Unless it was already above that.

It definitely varies by region but you will never make less than $15 as a barista or $19 as a shift anywhere in the US after the recent increase. In NJ i make $19.05 as a shift but I plan on moving to FL eventually because $19 in NJ and $19 in FL are veryyyy different
coexistjay 1 points 9m ago
This is what i was thinking about too! because $15 in CA is very different to $15 other states you know? California is just way too expensive 🥲

LA at 18.72/hr. Basic barista. In Oklahoma 2 yrs ago I made 9.79. Even with the increased pay I'd make less than 13. It's regional.

Edit: should mention that I started over 3 yrs ago. Definitely call around the areas you're planning on moving to. Many don't actually know or don't want to say over the phone but just let em know your plans etc.
coexistjay 5 points 9m ago
I work in LA but I only make $16.50 so I was trying to see how much of a loss I'd take moving out of state but that makes sense!

Adding on: I definitely will, I just get anxiety over the phone but since it's probably the only way I'll for sure get an idea I'll suck it up 😭 thank you !
Dropthetenors 4 points 9m ago
Definitely call around. Maybe see if you could train to be a shift? Then move out with shift creds
coexistjay 5 points 9m ago
I never really considered that but now I'm going to weigh my options! It seems like a good way to go since shifts get more and it'll probably be around the same as I currently make ahhh
Dropthetenors 3 points 9m ago
If it help you can always say your calling for a friend? I tend to speak up for my friends more than I do myself
coexistjay 2 points 9m ago
Honestly, I'll probably just give myself the biggest pep talk and just do it lol nothing like ripping the bandaid off 😌
