No literally it was first thing like 5:45 am one day and this girl got an iced espresso with this that and the other thing and I hand it out she looks at it disgusted and looks at me and says I asked for extra oatmilk and I explained that I put extra than I normally would have used for that drink nicely, but she wasn’t charged for a drink with mostly milk (a latte) so I can’t make it a latte and that I can bring her back up front to cash out a cup of milk if that is what she wanted THIS GIRL LOOKS AT ME AND GOES “the other Starbucks do it” i go “well that is not the right way to make this drink, I hope they find their way back to following our standards” and then she deadass says “I mean this is what I drink at work and it’s half gone (very rudely)” like first off I don’t care where you drink it and second of all you are asking for a drink you didn’t pay for. I was like well we can bring you up front to get a tall cup of milk and then she went on complaining about the price and saying to her friend/ sister whoever was paying “ugh I’m so sorry about this *persons name*” Honestly I could not have cared less, I would’ve filled it up as a one time courtesy and then explained that she can’t expect that from others Starbucks and would have to order a latte next time, but the way she acted nope that did not slide and it was far too early in the morning for that shit

it’s on mobile orders though. “add blonde shot” is not an option on mobile orders. try it yourself on a mobile order.

I have noticed a few times recently a mobile will say blonde espresso. I don't even think about (or care) if they paid for it? Like, they are allowed to mobile order it so I'm just gonna make what the ticket says to make. I'll just put one if it's a chai or something that doesn't get espresso.

Ehh, with sweet cream they're already paying $1.25 to add it to their drink at all. It's such a rip-off that I don't mind giving people extra.

This is when you pack it with ice, or just explain the extra milk charge over 4 oz. But I do think the price for sweet cream is outrageous, so I will gladly give people a generous glug if they’re nice about it.

yes, but this post is about people trying to add shots to drinks that don’t get shots normally. like an iced chai. they’ll order an iced chai with blonde espresso, and don’t put the number of shots. I can’t make a blonde espresso chai with no shots. it would just be an iced chai. people are trying to get away with not paying for the added shot by just choosing an espresso roast option in drinks that don’t get espresso. if it doesn’t say single/double/ect, they didn’t pay for the shot.

pretty sure OP is referring to people clicking “blonde espresso” on drinks that don’t get any espresso by standard (eg chai lattes, frapps) - so they’re not subbing blonde for signature, they’re adding blonde shots where there originally weren’t any shots
