Absolutely!

\-First thing to know is that every Starbucks is different! Different stores have different environments and training habits. If you feel like your current store isn't the environment you need consider transferring before quitting!

\-Learning recipes: There are lots of Quizlet tests online that teach the syrups/shots for each drink and special customizations. Also using your store resources is great! There should be recipe cards somewhere in the store and if you ask I'm sure someone would not mind letting you check them out. Sometimes a trainer will even make you a 'cheat sheet' for your first week or two to help you out!

\-What to expect: If you're at a good location then you should at the very least have about a week of training. You will be basically stuck doing modules where you read information for different roles. Your first day for example will probably be Customer Support. So you will come in and do the modules your trainer tells you and then hopefully get some active experience in that role before coming back the next day and trying out a different role.

Just don't give up! I was so nervous when I started and about two months in thought that I was so useless at Starbucks and I felt like a loner in a group of people progressing sooo much faster than me. I'm about two years in now I've been a barista trainer and am now a shift supervisor. It is absolutely important to understand that you and everyone else learns at different paces and it's okay to take your time and get comfortable learning!

I think my biggest thing for recipes was always keeping the same order of operations. Doing it the same way every time is key. You’ll start associating the names to ingredients too and some places even have legend keys next to the bar. You’ll be great and have fun!
