requesting off for the holidays and 2/3 weeks in January (self.starbucksbaristas)

Would it be better for me to take a leave of absence if I'll be gone for 3-4 weeks or just take off all the weeks (assuming my manager approves it)

I work at Starbucks part time, mostly for fun and to get away from academia. I'm a graduate student and I just found out my lab is planning field work during Thanksgiving break, and also the week between Christmas and new years. To further this, I'm helping to co-teach a class for two weeks abroad so I will also be gone for that.

What's my best course of action? I'm planning on letting my manager know on Friday when I see him.

i would request this asap to have the best chance cause that’s lowkey really soon now to request a whole loa

I just found this all out today, I'm now scrambling 🙃

I was told anything more than 14 days has to be put in as an LOA

Unsure how true that is so maybe take that with a grain a salt

edit: a word

This is the answer. If you don’t work a shift for over a month, I think the system automatically flags you

Yeah just take it off and communicate with your manager asap. Depending on the manager, they are pretty chill about it in my experience
