learn the recipes and the sequencing first, then worry about your speed. getting these recipes and sequencing systems down now will help you be faster once you really know them!! if you need support, ask for it. be blatant and itll be given. let yourself be slow so that you can learn, and then youll be even speedier than speedy

Stay busy, when in doubt ask what you can be doing to help. But there will always be prep, restocking - cups/lids/ice/beans/milks, change trash cans, ask for time on the bar to get more accustomed, clean - milk fridges, counters, lobby, dishes etc. That’s usually the list or the things I used to go through as a newbie when I didn’t know what to do but feel uncomfortable standing still. (I come from a background of managing restaurants but wanted something more low stress, HA)

Ask questions! It is sooo nerve-wracking but asking questions is the best thing you can do! If you're making drinks and you're unsure it's better to ask a question about it than fiddle and guess-timate what should be in the drink.
Questions are even more important on positions other than bar. If you're on customer support asking the bar baristas if they need milks or anything, if on drive asking customers if they want whip cream with a drink that has almond milk.
There is always something that can be done and keeping busy and learning what people need by asking will get you to a point where you'll know what to do without having to ask! There is nothing wrong with questions and as a barista I would rather someone ask me something than do nothing or just stand in my way unsure of what to do.
