Question: Is Ecolab Washing Detergent and Sanitizing Solution Safe?(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by FoundationOk2479
I work in Licensed (Safeway) Starbucks, and I see my Coworkers clean the dishes by Dipping it in the Sanitizer and Washing Solution, without rinsing off the Soap, is that Hazardous? They (Coworkers/ Manager) said the Sanitizer kills off the Soap; I transferred from Southwest Division of the Company and now in NorCal Division wasn’t sure if Sanitation standards are Different.

You deactivate the sanitizer when you don't wash the detergent off, so things aren't really getting sanitized properly.

Thank you, I was taught it could become a Liability risk, from my previous Division, wasn’t sure if it was different in other states. Thank you for answering.

Of course. It's pretty common to see because everyone tends to assume it's fine when you throw it into the sanitizer. I've had to correct many people about it.

The sanitizer solution is meant to be left on the dishes, its nsf certified to be safe at certain levels, if the solution is quat then your safe range is 150 to 400 ppm
