Are any of y'all actual besties w/ some of your coworkers orr?
I'm in a new city so I'd love to develop some friendships but also I don't wanna make my work life messy lol.

all of us at my old store were good friends with each other but now that we all quit not so much :///
i hope once i move to a new store this can happen tho since i get a lot of my socialization needs from work lmao

Yeah, I just think it’s important to be able to also separate friendship from work life! If you don’t think it would work out that way for some people I’d avoid it with them so it doesn’t impact your work life negatively.

THIS!!! i’m super close with all my shifts outside of work (we were friends way before they got their promotions) & even though we butt heads at work, we can hangout right after our shifts end like nothing happened. or if we have a non-work related argument, we never ever bring it into work.

I moved across the countey from my old store and still talk to some of my friends there, we were all really close. At this new store though? I am having trouble making friends, ill give it a bit more time though.

I see a few outside of the store. I recently started seeing them. You just might make some. Just see how it goes and how well you mesh with them. Some might just be work only friends. Some might be I want to see these people outside of work 😊

Yea me and my partners hang and talk outside work! I’ve been good friends w people I worked w and it died after we left and some im still best friends with. Worth a shot!

I’m older than most of them at the ripe age of 29 so while we’re friendly and talk about life outside, we aren’t real friends. I think some of the younger ones hang out with each other though, you definitely should make friends

yes. i am literally best friends with all of my co workers and they’re the only reason why i haven’t quit yet

At my original store I was friends with 2 of my SSVs (I became one pretty soon after hiring too) and it became so messy. The two of them were toxic for each other and made work really weird. I’m still friends with the one who no longer works for the siren, but not the other.
I’ve been at my current store for 2ish years now. I have hung out with one coworker outside of work one time here and it’s not too bad. I have great working relationships with a good chunk of my team, but I don’t think I’d ever make the jump to become irl friends with anyone again.
ETA: I started working for the siren in my early/mid twenties and am now almost 30. I think that age and position play a big role, so if you are a barista wanting to hang out with other baristas, I’d say def go for it

Yes! Me and the other closers are all SUPER close, like we hang out after work, go out, etc. We have formed an alliance against the openers :)

we’re all homies at my store

It’s my birthday today and literally 98% of the people coming to my party are partners because I love them Edit: We also hang out outside of work regularly
Accomplished_Past_101 points9m ago
My store has the mornings/mid day friendgroup and closer friendgroup. Closers are usually highschoolers and usually like to talk bad about other partners unfortunately, but the morning/mid crew are always fun and take their job seriously. We love mornings/mids!

Lol my BFF barista just became an agm and we got matching septum piercing yesterday, so yes. You can be friends. We took a weekend trip with her other BFF and next month we are going to a concert together

It is almost always messy. I’ve become casual friends with almost everyone at my store and only like two of those people I would consider actual friends. The others have tried/succeeded in causing some needless drama.
