How long does it take to hear back? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by shadowlizzie
I applied almost 3 weeks ago to a local Starbucks that says they’re actively hiring but haven’t heard back. Should I go in and ask or give a physical copy of my resume? I applied online.

I think applications are only active for 30 days. I would resubmit it tbh and if you don’t hear back from that store there’s a change nearby hiring managers at other locations could also pull the app and select you for an interview

Oop this should say 3 weeks sorry. Brain fart. No other stores in my area I’m in a pretty small town

Go in or call on a Monday or Tuesday after 10 am and ask to speak with the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager. SMs are usually on Admin hours and off the floor at that time. I was a returning partner and had to rattle the SMs cage and I was interviewed and hired within 30 minutes.

Also small town, two whole corporate stores and two licensed stores.

Hey I'm a Starbucks manager.

If you really want the job there I would definatley go around like noon, when it's less busy but the manager is probably still there. Dress nice and introduce youreself, shake their hand, give them your resume. I always follow up with those people as long as they made a good impression. Sometimes I'll interview on the spot if I have the time.

This right here. Nothing makes a better impression with me than someone coming in to see me in person.

Hey thank you. So should I go in and ask to talk to a manager?
salaciainthedepths 2 points 9m ago
Read the room - if it looks like everyone’s stressed, it might be a bad time. We get minimum 30 applications for any open position so my SM doesn’t respond to all
applicants - if you don’t have previous experience, going in and asking to see the manager with a printed out copy of your CV and a cover letter personalised to the job is your best bet. Talking to baristas and asking how their day is going is good too.

Ok. Should I like order a drink first maybe? Then be like “oh could I talk to a manager” and like have a resume in my bag?

Yeah definately! Just be super nice to everyone you interact with. So they only have nice things to say and they know it's not to make a complaint.

I currently work at Starbucks, I got hired on September 13th!!:)

So, I applied at the beginning of August to the location I currently work at and I didn't hear back for a while. I submitted two applications actually, and called once. I pretty much gave up on hearing back, and then one day I got a text from the GM asking for an interview and got hired the next day!

I would highly recommend calling or going in person to talk to the hiring manager. It kinda sets you apart for the job. Good luck to ya!

it took them three months to get back to me. they didn't even schedule an interview at all, i had forgotten about my application and then one day three months later i randomly get a call from starbucks, answer it, and they start interviewing me over the phone on the spot. i don't know how long it's *supposed* to take but who knows.

It took me a few tries to get hired. I went into the store about 3-4 times before my interview to remind the manager that I applied. Afterward, he said that he appreciated the reminders, so perhaps they’re just forgetful?

I would go to the store you're interested in working at (when it's not lines out the door/around the block), and ask to speak to the store manager. If they're not around, have a legible note to leave foe them with your name and number and something about how you're following up on your application. Or if you're not comfortable leaving a note with a barista, tell them you're following up on your application and ask when they expect the store manager to be in.

Just make sure it's not during peak and looks slow.
