Affogato, but pretend (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by franglaisedbeignet
This older gent orders a venti dark roast, with two shots. But then says he wants it affogoto. So I start hunting for the affogato button, but in the back of my mind I’m thinking, isn’t this a shot that goes over the whipped cream on a Frappuccino? Why does this guy want to pay a dollar more for this on his hot coffee? I never said I was quick, okay? I’m just used to these customers telling me what they want, how they want it, etc. So I say, I think the Affogato is a shot poured over a Frappuccino. And he says, just pour the shots on top of my dark roast. Okay. And why do we want to pay a dollar for this opportunity??? So finally I get it, he just says Affogato to mean “on top” but basically, I should just type in a note in Ask Me. Duh. At this point I’m over this kind of confusion at the POS. Dude. So I say hey we got you, no problem, let’s pour your shots on top. But next time just say that because ordering it Affogato charges you a dollar extra. And someone even less clever than I am will just charge you and not say anything. AITA?? Lol Yes.
