I know this isn’t really the point here, but in the scheduling system “coverage” refers to a normal shift. The other shift types you’ll see are training (self-explanatory), noncoverage (things like clean play, inventory management stuff, tips, etc.), admin (dedicated time for managers to handle admin stuff), and key holder. Also, as an opener, we’re expected to call anyone and everyone to see who can come in, but you shouldn’t be required to come in at a time you’re not scheduled.
As for everything else, especially availability, I’d schedule a conversation with your manager because it isn’t fair to you or to anyone else to be scheduled outside of your availability and you need to get to the bottom of it ASAP.

I'm sorry your having those issues, and I'd definitely talk to the temp SM about it, but 10:30 to 7 pm is just an 8.5 hour long shift, which is entirely within standard. You work for 8 hours and the .5 is for a lunch.
