$15 is not enough for HCL area partners. (i.redd.it)

$15/hr was a liveable wage… when the campaign began 12 or so years ago lol

Bro in NYC they make $16.75, in areas nearby NYC where the COL is equally as high we make $15.00. As a barista, 35+ hours a week ($15/hr) literally doesn't even cover rent man, let alone other expenses.

The $15 national minimum wage doesn't factor shit in for HCOL areas. Partners at my store who aren't shifts have to work two jobs, but gIve tHerE aVaIlABilItY tO sTarBuCKs.

Yep. That’s why Howard is so scared of the big bad union. Throwing us more than scraps will cut into their (egregiously huge) profit margins

It's wild to me that NYC pays so little when the cost of living is so high. I'm at a location in a rural area that was previously at the lowest possible payrate, so going to $15 was a $3 / hr raise for us. In a low cost of living area like ours, that's awesome. But seeing how close to the minimum Starbucks is willing to pay in an area where the cost of living must be three times higher than ours - it's gross.

Yeah and also tips are awful here, too. I work in midtown and working 35ish hours a week, I get around $9-11 a week. I mean, I dunno what the average is, but I feel like a lot of people say their tips are about an extra $1am an hour

jesus. my rural / suburban starbucks in a southern state gets between $0.75-$1.25 /hr, as does every store i've been borrowed to

Don't get me wrong - I feel all of you.

But let me know when your cost of living also gets to nearly twice the national average. 😞
