Long story short I have a messed up leg from a crash 3 years ago it was hurting so went to the Dr's and stayed there Friday and Saturday so didn't go to work and Monday for follow-up all days I was suppose to work boss msg saying I need to take an LOA since it was 3 days in a row I called off. Told her Dr's cleared me but she said still need to take an LOA but I'm better now? Opinions or any info from the partner guide abt this

if u miss 3 consecutive shifts you have to file a LOA to protect your position (otherwise if ur sm is a jerk you can be fired). It’s pretty easy file a claim with Sedgwick and give your doctor the paper

policy is 3 days in a row requires a LOA. regardless of if you’re back the fourth day or not. you still need to fill out the retroactive paperwork.

Do you have to fill out this if you take sick time for three days?
clouds1831 points8m ago
yes.

No one told me to do that and what happens if I don't?
clouds1831 points8m ago
you could get fired for it.

What does it do tho? Is it more for the manager or for the barista

protection from being fired for being gone for 3 days.

Thanks that's what I thought she does know abt my injury or doesn't know procedures

You shouldn’t have to take a LOA for a three day absence. We have to take off 5 days for COVID with no LOA. Is she maybe misunderstanding the medical issue? If you’re better now with no knowledge of needing time off again in the immediate future, there’s no need for a LOA.
