help a new ssv !! (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Academic_Action5584
hi all. i'm a new(er) ssv (promoted in may) from a small very un-busy cafe store who just transferred as a shift to an extremely busy drive-thru closer to home. today is my first day and i'm running a closing shift because the original shift called out.

i'm sure i'll be okay by the end of tonight, i'm already a closer and confident in the skills and knowledge that i do have,, however. i'm realizing how many gaps i have when it comes to policies and resources and general information a ssv should know.

is there any basic advice/knowledge ssv's on here could be willing to give? especially going to a new store as a shift? i know how to go about basic tasks of course, but not knowing dt at all and going from a store whose peak is around 36/half hr to a store constantly in the high 20's/half hr gives me so much anxiety.

thanks all. wish me luck 🤧

Wait...your new store is what during peak?
My store is high volume, we do 50-60 per half hour during peak. I've helped 10 stores and am ready to apply for asm in Jan, message me

We are high volume we hit 80 half hrs 😅 window times at 43 secs. I’m applying to be an ASM soon.

new store looks to be in the 60's at peak, but since i'm coming in as a closing shift it looks like it'll be close to my old store's "busy" during most of my shift until close to close, if that makes any sense 🤧

thank you so much also !!! i feel a lot newer than i should so little things like that help lots<3

But as far as policies, partner hub is your BFF
As far as routines, I usually have a 3 partner play at night, try to get ur pull done asap after 4, then if you gotta knick out a couple 10s, do that, make sure if dt is just waiting on drinks they're working om prep, whips, sweet cream, lemonade, inclusion containers if they're not helping your dt bar
When it's slower and you have a really strong bar partner have them solo, with dt helping them, your 3rd person is your support while you do your stuff.
