How to Brew Iced Coffee into 6L Cubes?(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by ehatzis
At my store there is a current debate on how to properly brew iced coffee into the cubes. One way is that you put the 6 venti scoops of ice into the bin and then brew the iced coffee on 1/2 batch on top of the ice. The other way is that you first brew the iced coffee on 1/2 batch and then add the 6 venti scoops of ice after the coffee is done brewing. Does anyone know which way is correct, I can’t seem to find any answers on sirens eye and it’s causing problems between baristas and shifts.

we brew it into the cube and then add ice to 4L

We brew it on a half batch into the 2L pitchers, split it between a second 2L pitcher evenly and ice them to the top

I brew it over the ice. But I just do two of the ice scooper scoops lol

That’s how we do it too, but recently it came up that you aren’t so I wasn’t sure

Well the standard actually is to brew it in the urn and measure it out bc there’s extra.

Yeah I saw that online which made me realize that both parties at my store are wrong so now I need to go and talk to my manager about it and see what we can do

I believe it’s 1L coffee 1L ice in those pitchers but it doesn’t really make so much of a difference in my opinion.

i was told that brewing it over the ice creates a bitter flavor, but ive also seen people do that before. Ive always been told 6 venti scoops as well (my manager measure it out but i never do that lol)

We brew a half batch into a cube then add 4 venti scoops of ice.

6 venti scoops of ice per batch of iced coffee is the standard
