Is it my time? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by chaosatnight
I have been a partner for over four years and I’m a barista trainer. I worked at the store I was hired at for 3.5 years and as the management and all of my original coworkers left, I became deeply unhappy at the store (manager absent/unsupportive, unprofessional supervisors, very toxic cliquey environment, standards not being followed), so I decided to transfer to my original manager’s store.
My new store is a 180 change from my old store and I already knew and and was friendly with more than half of the partners. Despite loving the store and my coworkers, I find myself dreading work and even short shifts feel too long. I used to love interacting with customers and DTO/DTR was my favorite place to be. Now, my cheerfulness feels forced and I have less patience for difficult customers. Has anyone gone through this? Did you stay or did you go? I graduate with my MSW next summer and planned to stay until then. Now I’m not so sure.
