Check your state laws. My state is you get a 10 when you've worked 4 hours. Typically though i still give people breaks for 3 hour shifts

In my state, not by law. However, if was running the shift, I’d try to swing one for you depending on how the shift was going.

As people are rightly saying, a break isn’t required unless you work 4 hours. If it were my shift (I’m an SSV), I would try my best to get you one anyways but it would depend on how the shift is going.

The DCR doesn't give 10s for 3 hrs. I always give the teens that work after school a 10 cause they've been in school all day and come in and bust ass so we can get out on time.

That’s really nice of you. I came in for a few hours to help out but was put on bar during a rush for a couple hours. I feel like a break is necessary.

I remember being starving after school and sometimes they get out of class and walk or drive over, they have to be hungry. Now the kid that was constantly on their phone and stood around and did nothing if I wasn't micromanaging, I eventually told since they'd been on their phone for at least 20 minutes already and didn't think they needed a third 10. And anyone coming in and helping would be offered a 10. We're down adults and we have someone coming in and opening for 2.5 hrs like twice a week before going to their other job, so we have adults from like 1-4pm and I'm always like you want a 10??

likely not.

i believe the partner handbook gives you a break for “every major fraction of four hour” that you work, meaning at 2 hour you would NOT get a break but at 2:15 you would
so yes, according to starbucks policy you should receive a 10 minute break, and you are also required to take that break (at least, according to policy
dazedandconfusedhere1 points8m ago
At three hours yes. The policy is “for every major part of a 4h shift”
So I believe the DCR will schedule you a 10 once you’re scheduled 2.5 hours, but it might be 3. Then at 7hours you’re scheduled a second 10
I know for a fact that 3hr shifts get 10s because I’ve seen them scheduled on the DCR, and it’s not my states labor laws because we barely have any 😂

Depends on if we are busy, but always feel free to ask for a break or maybe just say you want to order a drink markout in my shift.

That’s a weird ass shift. Might as well not schedule u

when my SM scheduled me for 3hr shifts i get a 10. but i think that’s just something she does. afaik you don’t need a break (10 min break) unless 4 hours min

Why even work a 3 hr shift?
KurtzKOButtz1 points8m ago
Maybe covering the end of someone else’s shift

You should get a ten every time you work. If it's 6 hours or over then 2 tens and a 30
