It’s strange tho, because my app was created in 2013. I got deployed and when I came back because I lost gold status not using it, it now says 2016 member. My plastic gold card says 2013, but app says 2016 when scanned. Sometimes I’ll give the benefit of the doubt because of this, and just refer them to Starbucks corporate.

it starts over after inactivity over a year. I didn’t get my birthday drink this year because I literally never use my gold card. But I get free drinks on shift and make my coffee at home on my off days so it’s not a big of a deal to me than our customers.

In that situation i just ask to see their Id for their birthday. Give it to them, and tell them why it didn’t work. It’s not really well explained

In my store, we aren’t allowed to do that. Something about customer going to different Starbucks locations & claiming their birthday reward already. It was a scam going around in my area at least.

I had one girl come up and say she forget her phone but can she still get it. I was trying to be nice so I said if she showed me ID then I could. Didn’t have her ID either apparently. Lmao.
