Working while having COVID(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Roboticskittlez
So I recently tested positive for covid. I was feeling under the weather at the beginning of the week and still went to work but the next few following days it got worse. As soon as I got my test results I told my boss but he said that the new update states that we don’t have to share medical reports with them just have to find our own coverage if we’re calling out. Welp I got no coverage for today so I have no idea what I should do. Should I go into work and try to play it cool or should I just not show up at all?

If you're sick your manager needs to find coverage, that is their job.

That’s what I replied to my boss with . Their reply was since I was a SSV that it’s my job to find my own coverage :( is that true?

No. I have called out and my manager found coverage for me when I had covid and I had food poisoning. If I am sick it is still not my job to find coverage. If i call out just to call out, then I am responsible for finding another shift to cover.

Our sm sends us a link to upload the results online and then let’s us know when we are allowed back. You still are out for 5 days from when you test positive. And you don’t find your own coverage. Do you have any sick time you can use?
