These lids are literally driving me insane, I am in the middle of my training and I just CANT put them on Any tips?

it’s been this way for about a month ish. It isn’t you, Starbucks is just cheap You can double cup and it sometimes works

My trainer can put the lids on just fine though

it will come with practice, i promise ! sometimes we do get bad batches of lids that won’t fit on properly, but the dome lids can be tricky even if it’s a good batch. double cupping does help if it’s really stubborn. i promise it’ll get better though!

It’s a new problem, the best way I’ve found is to double cup like they said: when you’re going to put your dome lid on, put the whole drink in a second cup of the same size, then try to do it: I find starting by getting it down as much as it does easily then going around in a circle and trying to fold it over while holding it down where you already have it…if that makes any sense. The second cup keeps you from crushing it too.

i’ve already hulk smashed three cups into the counter in the past two months 😭😭😭
these lids are definitely terrible i haven’t had this problem before

Have one hand in a C shape around the lid and put the lid almost on. Then use the thumb from your other hand to make the last bit of the lid go on.

I’ve been working here for two months and I crushed two frappes today trying to put those lids on

Stealing my comment from another post:
You need to get yourself an emotional support cup. Last summer I basically had one next to me every time I was on cold bar. After you pour the frap into the cup place that cup into another of the same size. It adds support so you can press down without it exploding. When the lid is on, lift it out of your emotional support cup and hand off as usual. You can reuse your emotional support cup over and over!

Sometimes if I use the palms of my hands on the sides it helps stabilize it. But the lids are cheap and most of them don’t fit right so it takes practice and some trial and error.

I double cup , the lid is easier to put on sometimes
wooohooohoooe3 points8m ago
THIS !!! It makes it sturdier so you can put more pressure.
Tired_and_over_it3 points8m ago
I broke a cup during rush, spilled a frap all over the ground and decided to double up from that point on
wooohooohoooe2 points8m ago
It’s so frustrating I’ll have a BEAUTUFYL drink and I crush it w my bare hands. The cups are weaker than my boundaries 🙃

Make sure the rim is dry, Don't place the lid straight down. Kind of hold the lid perpendicular to the cup, touch the rim of the lid to the lid of the cup, then kind of scoop the lid over the whip cream and it should click into place. Hope that makes sense. It's hard to explain.
The lids have been terrible lately and sometimes you need to try another lid.

I struggled with this too just make sure they’re not wet I’ve found when the rims of the cups or the lids are wet that’s usually when they’re hard to put on
clumsysilencee1 points8m ago
Don’t try to put all sides of the lid on at the same time! Put the edges down as if you’re drawing a circle with them is how I was taught!
dankmobile1 points8m ago
every time i get an iced white mocha and the lid won’t go on i could murder someone
_scott131 points8m ago
my forearms are getting bigger from these darn lids. I've been sore for two days
cynicosm1 points8m ago
making sure the rim is dry, and double cupping it to keep it sturdy (you dont have to keep it double cupped once the lid is on!) not perfect but better than nothing
