Yesterday penske came at like 6 and delivered our frozen food and the guy said he isn’t going to put it away for us. He said “it only gets put in the freezer 30 mins before close” so she was like 🙄 and got in an argument with him about it and eventually she had to be the one to put the food away bc he just fr left in the middle of their argument and didn’t say anything. So was he supposed to put it up? Or was the shift supposed to have done it ?

If it comes 30 minutes to close - after close they put it away. Otherwise if we are open we put it away.

That sounds normal. The shift is typically the one to put the frozen food away if the truck shows up during business hours.

Before close, we do, after close they're suppose. Half the time they'll still dump it and run if we're still in the building.

Our delivery people have Always put the food in the freezer, no matter when they came. I didn't know in some places the shift puts it away :o

our guys leave it out even if we are closed and no one is in the building! so many pastries have had to be donated because they’ve been sitting out all night in front of an empty freezer

if it’s pastries it’s really not that big of a deal. they sit on a cart all day, overnight isnt any different. obv if you have a ton of sausage cheddars (for example) sitting out overnight you’d just trash those.

Lord I hope your store does this. Everything goes into an orange donation bag and an approved vendor comes to pick it up for distribution through feeding America (unless there’s different agencies throughout the us)

yeah idk there’s like a lady that comes by everyday and grabs the stuff that went out that night before and takes it to the food pantry i’m assuming, idk i’ve only been working for like 3 months

My store stays open late and I’m one of the main closers. This has never ever happened to us. We have different drivers almost daily and they put everything away for us every day.
