Benefits Question (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Tuuuucc
Wondering if this has happened to anyone else and how you may have fixed it. So I came back from maternity leave on Sep 28th. I paid for August's and September's benefits. My first check of October had no deductions for benefits; I guess because I paid for September's. This most recent check (10/21) deducted my benefits twice. Instead of paying my usual $60 for health insurance/dental, they took out $120. I called partner resources and they couldn't give me an answer.

First off, congrats! Secondly, it would largely depend on when you went out on leave. You pay for the entire month. So let's say you left August 12th, you'd pay for the entire month of August since it was a partial month, all of September. It can take a couple pay cycles to get back on track. If you didn't have any deductions your first check of October, you paid for the entire month. You shouldn't have to pay anything next check if it's in October. Call Sedgwick and have them send you a detailed bill for everything and then also compare to your checks from both starbucks and Sedgwick.

Thank you! I will have to call them. I paid for August and September before I went back to work. I'm just confused and want to make sure I didn't overpay.
