Someone put trash in our tip jar and I don't know who or if they were still in the store but I said as loudly as I could without yelling "wow someone put trash in our tip jar??! How rude!!"

I found a broken off acrylic nail in ours once. I have a pretty strong stomach, but something about that just made me queasy.

That’s what happens when corp won’t even let us write “tips” on the jars 😐 people are disgusting. They also love to throw trash down the holes in our counters that are meant for cords???? We have one that isn’t in use but if we don’t cover it with something, people assume it’s a trash can despite the fact that it’s BEHIND THE COUNTER and very clearly not meant for customers to touch.

a lot of stores still do and imo they should, but corp policy is technically that they have to be those little clear cubes and cannot have any signage or writing on them

what about just make a sperate sign point to the jar that says tips?
I guess we do the writing on it because sometimes we have fundraiser donation jar, which is also a clear cube( bigger than tip jar though :( ) and we need customer to know which is which.

Some guy coerced someone to pay $20-25 for a meal for him and then proceeded to put trash on the counter for me to throw away. I told him the garbages are over there (pointed to it) and he picked it up and left

At one point we wrote NOT A TRASH CAN on two sides of our tip jar. We had to explain to one of our regulars how many times we had to peel gum off of the tips when we were putting them in the safe. 😣

I have found weed, foreign currency, Burger King coupons, and mojo crystals in our tip jar before. I’m sure there’s more but these are the best that I could remember off the top of my head.
