Do you guys use shot glasses for drinks other than macchiatos or shaken espressos? Is there a standard for this or not?

I use a shot glass for literally everything. For me, it helps with my sequencing and keeping all of the cups organized during peaks.

I believe standard is for macchiatos and shaken drinks only (DM came by and bugged a barista for using it for a non macchiato, but maybe he was wrong). But I use it whenever I want to lol

I would understand saying it needs to be used for caramel macchiatos and shaken espresso, but I can’t see how it could possibly make a difference for other drinks. I like to use the shot glass so i can pump the syrups while the shot is pulling….

I wasn't there that day but I'm pretty sure he was saying you can't use the shot glass to keep you in routine. But like, listen , yeah, I'm going to que my shots and catch them while I have to pump the 20 white mocha pumps the person ordered

sometimes i zone out and pull shots into them because i used to work for a different coffee shop, but other than that, only like fraps

Iced lattes.
Do you guys have the compostable plastic cups? Try pulling a shot directly into one of those. 😑

I saw someone say on here once that you aren't supposed to pull shots directly into the plastic cups, so you have to use a shot glass for all iced drinks. However no one at my store follows that so not sure how accurate that is

I don't usually use them for anything other than macchiatos tbh, the masterena 1s are the perfect height to stick a shaker under there so we use that for the bsse
