Does it piss anybody else off when a customer breaks a $100 bill for like 1 or 2 drinks and doesn't tip? I'm like damn, you're kinda shoving it in my face, unintentionally or not lol

We don’t typically accept $50s and $100s at the stores I’ve worked at. They can get pissy all they want, but I don’t care and they don’t seem to realize that their $15 order isn’t going to make or break a store. I’ve literally had them ask why I don’t want their money. It’s ridiculous.

Damn you accept 100s?
Poptart0911 [OP] 8 points 8m ago
Depends on what's in the drawer tbh. I'm at a Tarbucks
Tarbucks0899 1 points 8m ago
Me too and quite frankly we don’t care I’m not taking it I barely have change in my drawer anyway cause that’s all anybody thinks they should give me these days as cash and its ridiculous
Comfortable-Plane944 12 points 8m ago
God people who do that piss me off. Do you not understand that we only have so much cash on hand?
seacookie89 8 points 8m ago
They probably don't. I'd guess people that never worked at a cash register wouldn't understand. Doesn't excuse the behavior though.

I don’t accept anything over $20 unless it makes sense. Such as reloads, gift cards, large orders or I know for a fact we have it in the till. Drop boxes aren’t supposed to be opened unless it’s money time to prevent theft
AdamAce3 7 points 8m ago
The only time I’ll accept 100 or 50 is if the change is <=20 dollars to ensure that we don’t run out of change in the register
Veloci-Tractor 6 points 8m ago
i don't care about tips

but i hate it because i have nothing but 5s and 10s in the till so, what the fuck man
Tarbucks0899 5 points 8m ago
Nope! Unless it’s like a $30 dollar order and I have change I’ll take a 50 but really we are not a bank I’m not breaking this bill for a $5 purchase like that get real
darkwolf523 2 points 8m ago
I don’t take 50s or 100s. I don’t get paid enough to slowly gather their change. Also I probably don’t have enough to even give the that said change
GhostfaceJK 2 points 8m ago
my store only has tens and fives so trying to give back change is actual hell if we can. most of the time i just ask if they have any smaller bills
dlcksuck 1 points 8m ago
We’ve never accepted 100s and 50s until my SM just told us we have to because a bitch ass customer complained to our DM. now we have to have a a shift open up the safe and break them
mymelodywithaglock 1 points 8m ago
i hate ppl who treat starbucks like a bank. like we only have so much money in the drawer and most ppl use contactless pay
badatlife15 1 points 8m ago
I typically only accept $100s if their total is over like $30 or if I know for a fact I have at least a few 10’s in the till, we only have tens of other customers have paid with them so if I just got the till and don’t know I won’t take it. A coworker has started asking people to just reload their Starbucks card with the $100 or put it on a gift card and usually they manage to find a smaller bill. But yeah not tipping for that is like saying look I have all this money but I’m not sharing it, never even really thought of that.
